Incorporating psychospiritual tools with her Shamanic Breathwork practice, Linda Star Wolf shows how to spiritually journey in the same way shamans entrain to the rhythms of drums, rattles, or music by using the breath. Much like traveling to sacred places or ingesting entheogens, this practice can be used to enter altered states of consciousness, connect to cosmic consciousness, increase paranormal abilities, and awaken the shaman within. Breathwork can also be used to resolve traumas and shapeshift unproductive modes of thinking in order to move beyond them.
Utilizing the healing power of breath along with chakra-attuned music, Linda Star Wolf explores the five cycles of change--the alchemical map of Shamanic consciousness--and how these cycles affect you as you move through major shifts in your life. Filled with personal stories and case histories, the book also includes a 70-minute CD of shamanic trance rhythms and a guided meditation to awaken the chakras during practice.
LINDA STAR WOLF, founder of Venus Rising Institute for Shamanic Healing Arts and the Shamanic Breathwork process, has led transformational workshops worldwide since 1984. The coauthor with Nicki Scully of Shamanic Mysteries of Egypt and The Anubis Oracle, she lives and works at her Isis Cove Retreat Center in North Carolina.

I feel the title does not serve the book well, as this book is focused on a specific area of need and practice, rather than shamanic breathwork generally. Properly titled, this is very definitely a 5-star book. I'm also feeling that the publisher could have provided much better reproduction of photographs; in their current form it is hard to see in them what Start Wolf is discussing. I know top-notch photographic reproduction is expensive -- I would rather have had far fewer photographs with clearer, richer details.
This book has so much to offer that I'm hoping for a second edition that really does it justice!
