Such a good combo of love, mystery, angst, and a good romance story that will leave you aching to find your own Cowboy!
Can't wait to see what happens next with the other characters in this book
Serena was so fun… I wasn’t sure if I was going to like her at first. She just seemed so spoiled and shallow. It took some time but I finally got to see some fire in her veins! I love that she is sent to a ranch to work as a housekeeper and doesn’t even know how to wash a dish! She was just so privileged with her designer clothes and Louboutin’s! She came out flinging her spunky attitude around. It’s no surprise that Shane fell for her. They had some major instantaneous chemistry that rocked them both!
Shane’s Truth ended up having more mystery and intrigue than I would have guessed in the beginning. VF Mason wrote a perfect romance book! It had that bit of mystery and intrigue I talked about earlier, but there was also heat, and flirty, fun banter, as well as some hidden life lessons for us all. Mason writes this book so you can’t help but like her characters… Shane and Serena grow up and learn so much from each other. They are both very human, which makes VF Mason’s story super consuming!
Shane was written to be almost an alpha, but not really. He was sweet, swoony and loyal to those he was dedicated too. Raised by his aunt who was hiding a secret to his past, it starts the journey that ends on a ranch in the hot Texas heat.
Serena was a spunky, snarky, fiery red head with determination who has a lot to learn when she is sent to work on a ranch. Leaving her manicures, New York lifestyle, Louboutin's, and designer frocks behind she enters the Texas ranch knowing nothing about the housekeeping job that awaits her. She doesn't even know how to wash a dish!
Instant chemistry erupts but it's a simmer that leads to a smolder and Serena has her secrets of her own that are soon discovered by Shane. The supporting cast of characters complete this tale and will march right into the next book that I will look forward to reading!
Shane's Truth is the first book I've read by V.F. Mason and it certainly won't be my last. I was a bit intrigued from the very beginning--seemed the author added a little mystery with the main characters, Serena and Shane and I couldn't wait to discover more about them.
Though Serena came across as a little spoiled and naive to everyday things, I liked her character. She kept things interesting and that's what made me want to keep reading. Then there's Shane. There was just something about him and I kept rooting for him and Serena to click.
This story has an amazing set of secondary characters that adds to the romance and angst. I also thought that being on a Native American ranch made this story original. Everyone seemed to have their secrets and it was interesting trying to figure out how everything was all tied in together.
Overall, I enjoyed Shane's Truth. There were times I got a little confused once we started learning about the connections, but it all came together nicely at the end.
"We can't do this for multiple reasons, but you are still mine. Even if I can't have you."
Serena is a spoiled girl and her father wants her to earn something in life so sends her off to his friends ranch to actually work. What Serena didn't expect was to like being on the ranch for numerous reasons and Shane being one of them.
Shane wants Serena but feels there is a conflict of interest since they both work on the ranch. However, he can't take being around her and needs to make her his own.
Secrets, Lies, Love, Hate this story has it all. I can't forget to mention that the other characters in this book are so well written, and I know there is a story for them too! I loved them all and loved how the author intertwined all their lives.
Meet Serena, she's a spoiled, shallow heiress, a brat. Now her father has enough and sents her to his friend, so she can prove she can make it on her own.
Shane is the "product" of a ONS. He's on his way to find his blood father.
Both land at the Rising Star Ranch in Moonlight Texas.
Threy meet and have this crazy insta-chemistry, sparks fly. Both are smitten and the hotness is through the roof high. Serena grows up a lot, just like Shane. Now they understand nobody is perfect and everybody has flaws.
Favorite Quote: " First love should always come with a warning. "
Shane's Truth is a sweet romance, I liked the writing, the words and the characters.
I give 4,5 sweet stars and say thank you, VF Mason.
