Under Mr. Gaffney's leadership, the Center has been nationally and internationally recognized as a resource for timely, informed and penetrating analyses of foreign and defense policy matters.
Mr. Gaffney is the host of Secure Freedom Radio, a nationally-syndicated radio program heard weeknights throught the country. Featured guests have included Newt Gingrich, John Bolton, and many current and former policymakers and elected officials.
Mr. Gaffney is the lead-author of War Footing: Ten Steps America Must Take to Prevail in the War for the Free World (Naval Institute Press, 2005). With a foreword by former CIA Director R. James Woolsey, an introduction by Victor Davis Hanson and contributions from thirty-two other accomplished security policy practitioners, this highly acclaimed volume constitutes an "owners manual" for the new global conflict in which America finds itself engaged - the War for the Free World. War Footing draws upon the work program of the Center for Security Policy and offers practical steps for mobilizing the Nation and other freedom-loving peoples to enable their victory over those who would destroy them.
Mr. Gaffney also contributes actively to the security policy debate in his capacity as a weekly columnist for the Washington Times, TownHall.com, and JewishWorldReview.com. He is a contributor to National Review Online and his columns also appear periodically in WorldNetDaily.com, the New York Post and FrontPageMagazine.com. In addition, he appears often on national and international television and radio news programs. Over the years, his op.ed. articles have appeared in such publications as: The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The New Republic, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, The Los Angeles Times, National Review, Newsday, American Legion Magazine, and Commentary.
In April 1987, Mr. Gaffney was nominated by President Reagan to become the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy, the senior position in the Defense Department with responsibility for policies involving nuclear forces, arms control and U.S.-European defense relations. He acted in that capacity for seven months during which time, he was the Chairman of the prestigious High Level Group, NATO's senior politico-military committee. He also represented the Secretary of Defense in key U.S.-Soviet negotiations and ministerial meetings.
From August 1983 until November 1987, Mr. Gaffney was the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Forces and Arms Control Policy under Assistant Secretary Richard Perle.
From February 1981 to August 1983, Mr. Gaffney was a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Armed Services Committee, chaired by Senator John Tower (R-Texas). And, in the latter 1970's, Mr. Gaffney served as an aide to the late Senator Henry M. "Scoop" Jackson (D-Washington) in the areas of defense and foreign policy.

Having read some three dozen books on Islam since 9/11, I was pleasantly surprised how this report managed in one volume to condense all the crucial relevant for us information on Islam I had learned in the last 9 years from various sources. The report builds an air tight case because it uses extensive quotes from the original Muslim sources as well as the writings of John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and John Quincy Adams. No American will remain indifferent once he or she has read the report.
Almost all of the information presented in the report has been available on line for a long time, yet most people were either reluctant to look into this quite easily accessible information, did not know where to look or did not know its significance. This is now no longer the case since a plethora of security experts, among whom are former Director of CIA and a former Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Fleet, have put their names behind this report. This is the report you should read and it carries weight.
The report makes the point that it is the US President's constitutional duty to understand the threat: "It is, therefore, fair to ask of U.S. officials with national security responsibilities whether the failure to know an enemy violates not only professional rules of competency but their solemn oath of office? After all, if an officeholder must "protect and defend against all enemies" (N.B. the Constitution uses the word "enemy," not "violent extremists"), this implies that he has to know all enemies, or at least undertake the due diligence effort to learn about them. "
Apparently, President Obama has not read the report else he would not have continued with his appeasement policies which run counter to what the report shows is detrimental to US interests.
My only critical suggestion about the report is that it does not put sufficient emphasis on the ineffectiveness of the doctrine of mutual assured destruction [MAD] when Iran is concerned, the point that a few lone individuals like Bernard Lewis, Harold Rhode, John Bolton and Reza Kahlili have tried to bring everybody's attention to.
I cannot stress enough the importance of this book. Apart from a preemptive Israeli military strike on Iranian nuclear facilities, this report is my only hope and evidence that America and the West will have the will to defend our civilization. Since the report is on line and available to everybody, Americans have a chance to understand the threat to their country and to understand the dire consequences of electing a president who does not.
Armed with the knowledge from the report, the present "peace processing" in the Israeli Palestinian conflict looks like a bad joke and it is obvious that the current Western politicians will be judged by history as ignorant clowns, accountable to no one for their ignorance, who like Sisyphus kept repeating the same errors time and again because of it.
It is almost grotesque that our lives in the Middle East had for years depended on politicians and media who had refused to educate themselves. From now on this report should become a conditio sine qua non of every politician, diplomat or journalist that has anything to do with the Middle East.
Get educated, don't just listen to rhetoric from the Elite "who appear to know more than anyone else".!!
Shariah: The Threat To America: An Exercise In Competitive Analysis (Report of Team B II)
Top reviews from other countries
Having started with an Executive Summary for those not wanting to read all the detail, it outlines what Shariah law is; what jihad is; where jihad sits within Shariah law and what aspects of Shariah law are a threat to the US and the West.
It then goes on to outline how the Muslim Brotherhood is working to implement Shariah within Western society and what other organisations are involved and how.
It concludes with an assessment of how Shariah conflicts with the US Constitution and where the US is vulnerable to being taken over by Shariah and why. It points out other Western nations are similarly vulnerable and the distinguished team of writers have given many years to researching what they say.
This book makes it quite clear the West is being deceived into thinking Islam is a peace-loving friend, by Muslims who tell their own people one thing and us another and who, behind the scenes, are undermined our societies by "stealth/civilisation jihad" with the clear intent of Islamising the West.
We fail to heed the message of this book and messages like it in such books as "Slippery Slope: the Islamisation of the UK" by Patrick Sookhdeo, "The Blood of Lambs" by Kamal Saleem and "Why I left Jihad" by Walid Shoebat etc AT OUR PERIL.
