I just bought my second 10-2205 saw. I just about completely wore the first one out. I like this one a lot better than it's bigger brother. I don't understand why many other posters have a problem with the blade popping out. There is more than just a screw holding the blade in.... there's also a round hole in the blade that accepts a washer that's part of the retaining assembly. Either way, I've never had the blade pop out. The cutting edges are extremely sharp, and there are too many uses to try and list them all. The two different teeth-per-inch on either side is also very useful. I'll keep buying these saws as long as they keep making them.

When used as a fret cutting saw, this little pull saw cuts an accurate slot of just the right width kerf for press fitting frets in a guitar fretboard. A great addition to a luthiers tool kit.

I've used this saw to flush cut dowel rods after making furniture repairs. It's excellent for that task. The blade is made of good Japanese steel and it is sharp. It's nice, too, that the blade is replaceable. All in all, this is a good tool and a good value.

Shark 10-2205 Trim/Detail Double Edge Saw - I have used this Shark saw more than any other. Its size and the two cutting edges with different tooth count is just plain handy. Due to the angled shape of the blade it is not as usable as a miter saw as some of the others, but will work is you keep the edge at the right angle.

These saws are: 1. sharp; 2. affordable; 3. easy to use (after a short learning curve);
These saws: 1. cut a thin kerf; 5. are very sharp; 6. allow you to do precision cutting.
And: they are very, very sharp (keep bandages with them - even though you've been warned - you'll have to find out for yourself).

I have moved ALL of my other hand saws to the back of the shop. These are a joy to use. I want to have each type (and have probably bought more than I have a need for). You will have to make a new miter box because these blades are too thin for any you have.

Some tips: 1. Don't pitch them in your toolbox or truck bed. These are precision tools and though they are quite strong, they are easily damaged. Use the blade guards that come with them. 2. Don't try to "muscle" them through a board. The old adage of "let the tool do the work" has never been truer. 3. Don't place the blade edge anywhere you don't want a mark left. I think I mentioned that they're very, very, very sharp.

(Since I don't know which review you might see first, I have left the same general review for each of these I own and added any specific thoughts for the individual saws.)

This saw is a must have for fine detailed work. I use it in violin making and it is my tool of choice for most cuts. The blade is very thin,flexible and sharp. It cuts very smooth with very little effort, just pull with smooth strokes and let the blade to the work. You can't go wrong with this saw,especially for the price.

Recently completed building a deck on my house. Part of the project was cutting the post and sleeves for the railing, which I did with a circular saw for the first post and I had that "This is not safe" feeling the entire time. Went into the garage and the first saw I saw was this one.

I was able to cut the remaining posts in less time by hand with this saw compared to a circular saw which blew me away. The saw cut through the composite sleeves and pine deck posts like butter and stayed true to the cut line. Couldn't have been happier.

This is the first pullsaw I've used, and I love it. It's encouraging me to get a larger Shark model to replace my crosscut saw for general carpentry work. The blade is SHARP and it cuts fast and cleanly, even in veneer plywood, which really impressed me. I've cut some birch plywood with paper-thin veneer, and it didn't tear out at all. The handle is well-sized and comfortable, and the rubbery coating is a really nice feature.

My only criticism is that the two tooth pitches (on one one side, one on the other) are so similar, you can hardly tell them apart. I have to examine it closely to even tell the difference, and the cutting performance is hardly distinguishable. I wish the coarser cut was coarser for better rip cut peformance.

This saw always amazes me at how well and smooth it cuts with very little "muscle" on my part. One of my favorite tools.
