I have used it a couple of times and so far I am very pleased. It has the power that advertises, the long cord is a big plus, emptying the canister a breeze with no dust flying all over. No need to replace filters, just able to wash them is another big plus. It's very light, easy to maneuver on carpet, giving the option to regulate the power of the suction, if too much for high pile carpet.
If there is a con, is that is not as wide as other uprights so you need to make more passes, but I do not mind I need the exercise, LOL. Also it won't go under beds or low couches, tables... I don't mind that because my old one didn't either.
I recommend it, but do your research for price.
It was time to clean the carpets. So I vacuumed the carpet with the Oreck. I then deep cleaned the carpet with a new Bissell proheat 2x. The carpet was now clean... it looked clean, smelled clean, it was clean. Two days later I was issued orders from headquarters (the wife) not to return home unless I arrived with a new vacuum with a hand wand for crevices and etc., naturally I complied. After assembling the vacuum (this consists of one screw for the handle), I gave it a test drive over the same carpet I had just vacuumed and wet cleaned two days prior. When I was done I was in shock! The dirt container on this Shark had more sediment than I care to admit...HOW? Not sure... but out with the Oreck and in with the Shark from now on.
It comes with a hand held power cleaner (awesome for couches), a crevice cleaner and a brush all for the wand extension. For what I paid for it, it's a no brainer. Oh yeah, it's light weight too, even compared to the Oreck who seem to be proud of their light vacuums. I think the box says it weighs fifteen pounds. As small as this vacuum looks this thing sucks like a hurricane, its no joke.Read more ›
That said, this Shark replaces a 10 year old Eureka Boss. So I can't compare its performance with any newer models. But I can describe my first cleaning experience. I don't want to repeat everything others reviewers have already said, so I'll try to offer new information.
The suction is as powerful as Shark claims. I was skeptical about the pet hair / power brush accessory because it relies on suction to spin the beater brush. But the suction is more than enough. The power brush accessory is super effective at removing cat hair from the sofa and kitty condo.
This being my first bagless vacuum, I was concerned about making a mess while emptying the dirt cup. Well, it is messy compared to a changing a bag. The dust is all over the inside and outside of the cup. The dirt cup assembly clicks into place above the motor and removes with the easy push of a latch button. The bottom of the dirt cup has another push button that unlatches the bottom panel. Simply hold the dirt cup over the trash, push the button and the bottom swings open to drop the debris. Nice. I'm not going to like cleaning the filters every 3 months but will do it to maintain the 5-year warranty.
When using the accessories with the hose, the vacuum did not fall over! I didn't try to stretch the hose to impossible lengths. I just kept it as close as possible, and it worked well.
This vacuum picks up a lot of hair, dust and dirt. Almost embarrassing at how dirty the carpeting was! The first pass through one room filled the dirt cup to the max. I emptied it and took a second pass through the same room. The dirt cup filled less then halfway.Read more ›

I like this vacuum, which I purchased locally, not through Amazon. However, I wish I could find replacement filters someplace. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Phoebe Saffold
It has great suction but when using it I found if you drop the cord you have to bend over to pick it up if the cord came out the top of the handle you wouldn't have to do that.Published 6 months ago by Lawrence Baxter
Good suction but heavy to carry around. Nothing about it is intuitive: using attachments, disconnecting dust cup, etc. I have to consult the manual every time. Read morePublished 17 months ago by Marais
