if you leave the lid off for more than 60 seconds they dry out....
normal sharpie caps don't fit them... that should be a sign right?
Also, the tips stick out about 1/8" further than normal (as I thought I was buying) sharpie markers...
Just pay fifteen or 25 to get 12 or 24 . this 36 pack is a pack of bs and to be honest
I NEVER LEAVE REVIEWS... That is how strongly I feel about my purchase (on amazon).
1. The ink cartridge does not sit snugly in the pen and rattles around when you shake it.
2. The cap is not held on by compression to then pen and is rather held on by a small ridge on the pen
3. There were 5 sharpies in this batch that had no ink in the cartridge. (They were actually white tip and the cartridge was white as well)
4. There is no way in hell that an authentic Sharpie would have that low of quality testing.
5. They don't write well on metal at all. Normal sharpies write on metal just fine.
6. The felt tip of the pen will actually press into the pen if you press too hard while writing.
7. The cap does not sit on the backside of the pen well at all while in use and will easily pop off.
These pens are craptastic if you need an actual sharpie. If all you're doing is writing on paper I'm sure these will work just fine assuming they actually come with ink in them of course however at $22 I would just go buy real sharpies at a possibly lower price. I wouldn't support this crap if I were you and I should have returned the box but I had them in storage until the ones I had ran out and by then it was too late for a return.
These markers were too old and did not have anything left in them! Can't return them. Why would I want someone else have the same problem?

I am what is called a maker which essentially means I tinker with a lot of different types of things such as woodworking, metal working, electronics and the list goes on and pretty much the sign of any maker is they usually have at least three Sharpie markers on their person at any one time. The reason for this is that these simply work to write, draw or otherwise mark a whole host of materials in some pretty demanding conditions such as very dusty, hot and very messy workshop which would easily clog up and destroy a lesser marker pen.
The most impressive use for a Sharpie marker that I have used it for is for marking steel for knife making in which I colour in the areas of the steel that are to be removed / cut out and then use a mixture of an angle grinder and belt sander to get the steel to a knife shape. The temperatures produced by these power tools are so high that within a matter of seconds they can change the structure of steel!... but yet the Sharpie ink still remains. During this knife making process the steel is dunked in water and wiped dry to cool it before it gets too hot and this dunking in water will happen easily 50 times or more and yet the Sharpie ink remains granted it does fade eventually and need to be reapplied but for a marker pen this is pretty impressive.
If you are looking for a no nonsense marker pen that writes on pretty much anything and won't rub of easily or fade this is the one for you.
I have deducted a star because the tips tend to wear or get squared off a little to easily and I find I am having to throw pens away that still have lots of ink due to this.... for the average user this probably won't be a issue but it is still a issue and one that is wasteful which is a shame.
Excellent quality pen, with a lid that fits securely. These permanent black markers have a fine point which is perfect for writing addresses on parcels, without the text getting really big.
I hope this pack will last a while, but will definitely be reordering when I need more.
