Let me begin by saying I am a pen nut. Line weight, pen balance, hand fit are obsessions of mine to the point that friends and family love to tease me. BUT- That makes me the perfect person to tell you about these pens! These are simply the best. Sharpie ink is indelible and does NOT bleed through standard office paper. The ink is also smooth and has never failed me. This model has very durable tips that will maintain their shape and not frey until your ink runs out. On the ink: Sharpie are experts at providing the smoothest and most vibrant color that provides you an endlessly reliable utensil for artwork, journal and planner use. The fine tips are perfect for precision work. I use them to outline my dayplanner and the precision tip is perfect for my tiny writing. SHARPIE KNOWS THEIR INK. These are the pinnacle of fine tip pens- period. God, I love you, Sharpie.

I purchased these to use for my wedding guest book, which is a shadowbox with wooden hearts that my guests will write on. I picked these colors specifically because they're lightsaber colors (I'll be removing the black pens before I set them out for the guests) and my guest book is shaped like the Millennium Falcon. They write very smoothly on my wooden hearts, and they do not smear. They are perfect for what I wanted to use them for, and I'm sure I'll be able to use them for other projects long after the wedding is over.

First, I'm obsessed with Sharpie pens. Second, these are awesome because they are COLORS!! I work in the journalism industry, and have a huge desk calendar as well as a smaller on-the-go planner that need to be in sync with one another. With Sharpie pens, I'm able to write dates and times for reptatative meetings, sports I have to cover, and interviews all in certain colors in both calanders.
Because of the high quality, the lines stay sharp, and they don't bleed through the pages. I'm using a basic desk calander, and the Freedom Planner from here on Amazon.
I also love how long these last.
My only complaint would be sometimes the nibs bend a little if you write too hard at a 45° angle to the desk. Be gentle!!
Also, these are easily in the $9 range at my local Walgreens, so it was cheaper to buy them here. I could have caught them on a sale, however Walgreens/Walmart don't offer the pastel pack.

Smudges on glossy paper

I read mixed reviews here, and elsewhere, about these Sharpie Pens. Some people wrote they worked fine on glossy surfaces, others wrote that they smudged. I thought I'd give them a go, because if they did smudge on glossy paper, I'd find another use for them.

On glossy card stock I tested an area. Waited 20 seconds or so, and wiped my thumb across it. The ink smudged. I tried again, and let it sit for 3 1/2 hours this time. It smudged, only not as bad as when I had waited only 20 seconds.

These pens write on paper fine, though. No smudges there.

I have Sharpie Ultrafine markers. Their tip is not quite as sharp as the pens I am reviewing, but close enough. When I write with them on glossy surfaces, and wipe my thumb across it 20 seconds later, it doesn't smudge at all.

So, the Sharpie pen is decent, but the ink responds similar to some other, "Normal" ball point ink pens when the ink is on a glossy surface.

I also tried different colors, as I have some pens from a particular line of pens, where on glossy paper different colors smudge differently, and some ink colors from that line don' t smudge at all. The ink colors I tried from this pack of Sharpie pens all smudged on glossy paper.

If you want to write on glossy card stock or paper, try the Sharpie Ultra Fine markers.

Don't waste your money here

Given the choice, I've always purchased Sharpies for their quality...I was extremely disappointed with this product: Don't assume (like I did) these are anywhere close to their permanent markers; they must be water based as they 1) take way too long to dry on anything more than paper (I used them on a calendar); and, 2) don't produce a smooth-looking line, regardless of surface. My first BAD Sparpie experience--don't make it yours. P.S. I would return it but I trashed all packaging--it's a Sharpie for goodness sake...lesson learned!

I have used Sharpie Pens for many years and have purchased them multiple times. The ink them last a very long time, I have using this pack everyday for the last 3 months and there is no fading in color. They are fine tipped, really easy to write with and are perfect for taking notes and writing directly into books, journals, lab manuals, etc.
The only issue I have with these pens is that the exterior paint of the pens starts to chip away and ends up on my hands. Other than that these are my favorite pens.

Love this set!!!!! L Well, it's Sharpie, of course it's awesome! I purchased it because I like adult ccoloring books and I didn't want the ink to bleed through the paper. I also have ADD and the colors help with my calendar color coding. Colors are BRILLIANT and bright and the point is super fine, but doesn't mush down with use over time. This is NOT your typical bold, heavy mark regular Sharpie because it writes just like a regular pen.

Awesome pen! I bought these pen in preparation for my licensure exam. This is because whenever I take notes, I usually use different colours in taking up notes and labelling my diagrams (this is really helpful especially if you are in the medical/health care field).
