So funny story, I asked my husband to order these and sent him a link from my wishlist. It took a long time for these to get to him but I wasn’t in a rush. I had forgotten I’d asked him to order these. So I ordered mine from the same list I sent him the link from. His arrived and they were not the Sharpie brand as advertised. I thought maybe he ordered a different brand and face palmed myself for forgetting that he’d ordered grease pencils as I asked and ordering more myself. When my order came in I thought it would be the Sharpie brand. Again, it’s not, it’s a brand called Hanson. They work well enough for my purposes, 1. Writing the dates on leftovers (the marks wipe off with a soapy sponge and warm water) 2. Writing on my preschool whiteboard so little hands don’t wipe off what I wrote (with a bit of elbow grease and a dry paper towel the marks came off)

I like that the grease pencil/China markers are versatile enough for home and preschool use. Four stars for not being as advertised or I’d have given 5.

Exactly what I needed to easily writing on glass

I’m so glad I got these! In my microbiology class we need to label our glass slides with wax pencils. The black one supplied to me in class would NOT mark anything up! I spent 10 minutes trying to write a simple “EC” and it just was not writing. I was beyond frustrated. It was some brand I didn’t recognize, but there was a red Sharpie wax pencil that did work. I really wanted to use black as a personal preference, so I ordered these. I tried these on a glass slide at home and they are SO EASY to write with! It took a little to get it going (as you can see with my first EC) but once it did, it was effortless. I recommend writing just a bit past where you would usually stop. The last point of your writing will lift off with the pencil, as you can see with an empty dot on the bottom left corner of my “B”. I HIGHLY recommend these Sharpie wax pencils.

My former employer issued these to its employees to redact PII. Recently my shredder broke and I still had a mountain of old tax forms that I was trying to toss in the recycle bin. I ordered the grease pencils and like I used to do, happily sat in front of the TV while reacting PII. The coverage is thick and once you've marked over the info you can't see through the black crayon like you can with black markers (holding it up to the light) and you can't rub or scrape it off very easily without destroying the paper. The only thing I never liked about these grease pencils is the peeling back of the paper to expose more crayon. The paper tab sometimes tears/breaks as you're pulling it around. That frustration came back to me as I was using them; had to get my exacto knife to help cut and lift the paper to peel it off to expose more crayon. Other than that, they do the job covering PII.

PERFECT for my use! These grease pens performed exactly as I expected and needed. I used them for military training during some land navigation on my waterproof map case and they were perfect. If you want something that won’t wipe right off your non-porous surface on a sleeve, glove, etc but can be rubbed off clean simply, this is it. It also worked well on porous surfaces, it is just not easily cleaned off. Also very weather resistant.

I've used these pencils for half a century. They are used for writing on left over containers both plastic and glass. Also used to label cups with a large family. Label pitchers what's in them to keep you from guessing. Mark your shower hot/cold or where kids need to turn the dial for just the right temperature. Label lunch sacks or tags. No sharpening, just peel back the paper to reveal more 'pencil.' To remove from cups, plates, glass, etc. I use a Scotch-brite pad and dish detergent. SO happy I found these.
