They write well on pretty much anything - plastic, metal, glass. I had to add a layout in another language (not English), to a keyboard for a relative, and I got tired of messing with keyboard stickers over and over again. So I engraved the letters with a Dremel tool, and used one of these markers to add color. Worked great, the stuff from around the engraved letters from sloppy drawing got rubbed off in a few days, and nice clear letters remained. No more "re-stickering" every 3 months.
They write smoother and more even than other metallic markers that I have used in the past. If you are careful about how hard you press when writing, these should stay in good working condition for a good long time. The tip is just like any Sharpie, and can mash down over time.
It appears that Sharpie has changed the design as these ones have a new cap. The old ones work fine. What happened Sharpie? I've already from two different sources now and neither work.
