If you are a super-organizer, then Sharpies always come in handy for labeling boxes. Permanent markers make easy the task of labeling boxes and anything else that needs a non-erasable mark. The width of the pen is important because you'll want to be able to read labels from a distance. These fine point pens are just the right width for labeling.
I use and repurpose plastic storage boxes and other containers. Rather than mark-up a box, and regret later that decision, I label a stick-on note and affix it with tape to the container. Clothing and collectables can be moved around over time and the containers redeployed and/or relabeled as needed. While the stick-on labels may discolor over time, the Sharpie ink does not fade.
