Sonia Amon is a retired US Army physician and is now at Walter Reed. Her background is a main part of this story as her dad, Faisal Muhammed is the second in command of Isis in Iraq and Syria. Dr. Sonia's early years were spent there so the reader will see that her service in the Army is not only as a physician but more, much more.
The reader will be taken along for an action packed adventure in Syria..and places beyond. Barrel bombs are featured as well as some of our outstanding Delta Force members
There is an underlying current that will keep the reader's interest...including COL Paul Grayson, Captain Reid Handley, a hospitalized patient and Melody, Sonia's mother.
Character development is 'spot on', writing is clear and crisp and the reader will be in for a lot of action in different locations.
Most highly recommended.
Sonia witnessed her Mom get beat mercilessly by her Syrian father who was --well a terrorist! They escaped and made it to America--Sonia was recaptured and was raised in her father's house. She knew she would escape when she turned 18-and she did. She is now an MD and was a major in the US Army. She hates her father but loves the country where she was born and really wants to help the civilians caught in the middle.
She is asked to go to Syria to help construct medical facilities--which she does. Her father has never stopped trying to get her back and somehow finds out that she is back there.
You will read about some of the things that the people endured---horrendous.
They build a medical facility and then Sonia is somehow abducted by her father--her Mom had been abducted from the US at the same time.
Your heart will go out to the civilians who have to endure hardships and fear every day of their lives.
I don't want to say any more or I might give away the whole plot! But this book is definitely for those who like horror and terror-with a bit of romance thrown in for good measure. You will feel like you are right there with Sonia as she lives through this nightmare.
