Homewrecker I relates the tale of one such woman who was married but couldn't handle the situation she was in. She falls in love with a married man who returns the feelings and life looks like it is going to be good. Then the exes come into the picture.
I am not going to tell you anything else - don't want to give anything away - except that Homewrecker I had me rooting for the mistress and praying that her life would turn out for her. This is a well written book that is emotionally charged and just might cause you to think differently the next time you hear about someone having an affair.
I have to say that this was a difficult read for me at times as it resurrected ghosts of relationships past and left me contemplating events from my own life. But...isn't that what a good book does?
The funny thing about self-discovery. The trek will make some point the finger of scorn at some passages, while they will smile at other chapters, recognizing the similarities of their own story between the pages.
I too have some finger pointing. I deplore the extent to which our heroine, Brooklyn, dumps on who she is and what she does when she calls herself a cheat and a liar repeatedly—words she would never use on another human being. We need to treat ourselves with more respect. I applauded when Brooklyn met Bo and smiled as soon as she found the courage to turn a new leaf and walk out of a loveless marriage.
I enjoyed the book and dearly hope the Shattered Reality we are talking about means ending the sanctimonious, falsely righteous behavior society maintains we keep. This would be “a giant step for mankind.” Looking forward to read “Burnt Promises” by Brenda Perlin’s.
Brooklyn's character is very well developed and you will identify with her in some aspect of your own life. I imagine this book was heart wrenching to write, yet cathartic.
Very inspirational, Homewrecker will touch your heart!
