Shaun the Sheep, appearing in the thirty minute feature "A Close Shave" appeared in the UK (and other non-U.S. nations) as seven minute Oscar winning cartoons in 2007. "Off the Baa is a collection of eight of these cartoons from the first season (listed below). Shaun is the star of farm and flock in episodes that fascinate adults and children. There are no speaking parts, but the antics stretch reality and lighten any mood using animal and people sounds.
Disney Channel seems to be the only source for Shaun cartoon broadcasts in the United States, except videos from some foreign Youtube-like sites. If you buy any videos, beware of DVD regional coding, making sure it is zero or one for the U.S. Watch for other collections of eight cartoons each - including "Wash Day", "Sheep on the Loose", "Saturday Night Shaun", and "Abracadabra". "Back in the Ba-a-ath" is also available, but I cannot find the number of episodes it includes.
You may now purchase Shaun the Sheep seasons one and two. A third season has been produced and introduces the farmer's cat. A toddler spin off of Timmy is now available: "Timmy Time"
A little searching will reward you with plenty of Aardman Animations videos including Shaun the sheep exercise video, sports, BBC shorts, as well as Wallace and Grommit features, "Cracking Contraptions", full length films, cartoons, advertisements, and over a dozen new characters.. Of the available full feature Wallace and Grommit films, none match up to the wonderfully entertaining "Chicken Run".
Three further recommendations: First, BEWARE of torrent downloads of Shaun the Sheep series. One is a vicious scam. Second, Wikipedia has a rather complete write up on Shaun. Links too. Third, don't miss out on Shawn's website [...] (or Aardmans website either)
Off the Baa includes the following eight episodes from the first season:
Off The Baa!
Timmy In A Tizzy
Buzz Off Bees
Things That Go Bump
Shaun Shoots The Sheep
Mountains Out Of Molehills
(episodes 1, 4,13, 20, 7, 14, 15, 18 respectively)
Happy Sheeping. Oh, and you may see clips on Amazon.uk Watching the intro in Swedish or German can be fun too.
Shaun is back with another eight stop-animated cartoons. This time, he faces the implacable pigs, determined to capture and consume the cabbage the sheep use as a football, fends of the ultimate bad haircut on sheep shearing day, goes goat-surfing, and more. A brief extra features some kids describing the main characters - finding that this non-verbal series had names for the characters was a pleasant surprise.
Parents might note that this DVD goes from main menu to the cartoons by itself, so kids lacking remote control skills can watch unaided. It will also cycle forever, so you might want to keep an eye on how many times it runs.
PRO: It is clean and has great entertainment for any age. I'm 29 and I never get tired of it. My son is 2 and a half and it's his favorite thing to watch.
PRO: It has an autoplay feature that will loop all the cartoons and bonus material. It's great not having the DVD hang on the menu forever.
PRO: There's no dialog in the cartoon. There's lots of expressions, and each cartoon has a cool story/theme.
CON: It's not the entire show. It has 8 episodes.

Great as a pick me up. You'll be surprised how addictive it is - you'll have the theme locked into your brain after one viewing.
