The moves are authentic, the graphics are about as good as Wii can get, and after reading some interviews Shawn did, I love that she was part of the process of making this game. A lot of the time, you expect that these celebrities have nothing to do with their branded products, but she actually had a lot of input on how this game together which makes me like this game even more. My little sister is now insisting on gymnastics lessons. :) If there's anyone who can inspire young girls, it's Shawn Johnson. Thanks for putting out such a great representation of a sport that means so much to me.
I can see this game being great for kids. Because there was nothing out like this when I was a kid I play it now :) I can see how it would be good for kids to play each other and you can unlock new hairstyles and leotards as incentive. I love this game! My favorite Wii game so far.
Great game, not too difficult to get the hang of, but challenging as you want it to be. A real winner and great price.
First off, to address the concerns of young children being bored or confused, I understand where these are coming from. However, this game is about reflexes and hand-eye coordination, something many young children lack for a while. I find this game pleasantly challenging (though in a month, I have beaten both career and quick play mode), and would expect young kids to find it very challenging. However, the game gets harder progressively so as kids get used to gameplay, they are once again challenged.
The moves are authentic, and despite gripes about graphics that other reviewers have voiced, I'm personally in favor of fun over beauty. I think the graphics are decent, as in, you can clearly see what the gymnast is doing. I'm not really looking for anything else other than that.
Overall, the game is addicting and simple fun. The controls are something you have to get used to at first, but the game walks you through them before you get to any serious competitions. Once you beat a few competitions, you can begin creating your own routines, and as you win more, you unlock new moves. The game keeps you on your toes, and often has you pumping your arms to give your gymnast power, so it's better than sitting stationary while playing a game.
Shawn comments during your routines, cheering you on when you score a "good" or "perfect", or reminding you to stay focused when you score a "bad".Read more ›
For the people complaining that their kids don't like it, I don't really see how it is a kid's game. I can't see young children having the patience to navigate this game. Most of the game is spent practicing the skills and putting together routines. it's not an action game.
My biggest concern before getting this game was whether or not it would have a lot of high level elite skills; and it does. They are not always in logical order but that is fine by me because at least they are there.
This game is for hardcore gymnastics fans- not many other people would enjoy this kind of game.
-high level skills are awesome
-addictive to keep playing and playing and trying to perfect skills/routines
-replays are cool
-texts are confusing sometimes.
-need to memorize or write down what number certain skills are. (wish they could have just put in the FIG code of points)
-crappy elevator music

The graphics are terrible and I thought it would be fun for a gymnast but it bored me very easily. It was a total let down.Published 1 day ago by Amazon Customer
Good game. My daughter is a competitive gymnast so she likes this game, although it took her awhile to get the hang of it. Read morePublished 7 months ago by Jessica
