I know I bought this and read it, but I can't remember much about it. (granted it's been a while!) 3 stars :(

Couldn't finish - like the author had two novels and tried to stick them together. One, a romance, the other, her version of what she thinks a thriller is. Not cohesive.

I loved the book and the suspense. Melinda Leigh is a good author and am looking forward to reading more of her books. There is some sex and some violence which is not for kids to read but for adults it adds to the story and the suspense.

At first this book seemed like a good read. Woman on the run from an abusive husband. By the end I felt like WTF! The author seems to want to put too much into the story. There's an abusive husband hunting Beth and her kids. An uncle with telepathy who can see the future? A romance. A serial killer. Men leering after her at every turn. An ex-cop dealing with the loss of his career due to injury. I feel that if you cut out half of the useless things that this would have been a great "novella". These additional things just muddy and ruin the story for me and are basically "filler" to make the story longer.
My advice to the author: Pick one thing for your story line and go with it. If you have other ideas, do another book, these things just did not mesh well together.

Enjoyable read. Somewhat predictable but enjoyable all the same, would recommend to a friend and will be reading this authors work again

I chose this rating because it was so well written. I think Beth needs all the guards Jack can find for her, especially Henry.

Very very enjoyable read!!!
It has been a long time since I have read a book in one sitting.
She Can Run, Ms. Leigh's first book, was well written and kept me intrigued.
The character's past could have been more developed in an effort to better understand them, but the story told, had unexpected twists that kept me glued to my chair.
If you enjoy romantic suspense, you'll enjoy the She Can series!

I have not read this author before, so after reading the comments on her books I thought I would try her. I did enjoy the book as it is a light read and easy to stay with. I will try more of the series to check out how she works with the characters. I appreciate that there are not too many characters with alike sounding names that are hard to keep up with as the book I am now reading has.

If this is truly a first book written by Melinda Leigh and I have no doubts that is it, she is fantastic!! Such imagination is gift and should be treated as such. I never want to ruin a book for the next reader but this story keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way to the ending. How can one woman experience so much hurt in one lifetime and still feel love?? The only complaint that I have is that the books are not clearly labeled by order of sequence so make sure you check the date they were published, you will be happy you did if they are a series. Best of luck Melinda and keep writing your fabulous books!!!
