50 years ago, in 1963, a small four-member group of lads from Liverpool, England wrote and recorded a song that would become the true definition of an epidemic to be known as Beatlemania; the recording was a tune called "She Loves You". From Ringo's thundering drum opening to the final "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" "She Loves You" is two minutes and eighteen seconds of pure excitement. The song was featured prominently in the 1964 film "A Hard Day's Night" during the television concert sequence that appears towards the end of the movie. The group also performed the song during their historic debut on the Ed Sullivan show in February of 1964. It also became a staple of their live concerts during that same year. In England, the song became their fourth-released single on the Parlophone label, quickly going to number one in the U.K. In America, it was initially released on the small-time Swan label, but flopped when it was first issued. After Beatlemania exploded and dominated America in 1964, Swan reissued the record and this time it became a huge hit, also reaching number one in the U.S. Although it was available as a single in Canada on the Capitol of Canada label, it made its American Capitol label debut when it was included in "The Beatles' Second Album". The Swan reissue single is unique because besides being a fun and energetic track, the disc itself was shipped in an attractive picture sleeve, which shows a black-and-white Dezo Hoffman photo of the group from a 1963 photo session. That same image was also featured on the back cover to the American Capitol debut album, "Meet The Beatles!" Both "She Loves You" and its B-side "I'll Get You" were released as a single world-wide. The song "I'll Get You" also has its own catch-phrase of "Oh Yeah". Both songs are also on "The Beatles' Second Album".Read more ›

This early Beatles' classic is one of my all time very favorite songs. This is the song that kicked off "yeah, yeah, yeah" as a Beatle trademark in 1963, when it was released. The famous Beatle hair toss was part of this package in watching the Beatles perform this one. I just LOVE it!

Lennon & McCartney's strong vocals on this one and their enthusiastic oohs and their famous "yeah, yeah, yeah" chorus is sure to rouse people to dance and delight listeners. I love this song, yeah, yeah, yeah!

WOW, this is one of the true classic rock n roll song of all time. I had this very record as a kid and it was warped, scratched, it skipped, all of the above but I played it to death. Of course I have had it on CD for years now but this 45 sure sounded great on my old woolworth or sears mono record player or something similar. Sure does bring back memories seeing that Swan label and the "Don't Drop Out". I did not know what it meant back then but I thought it was cool anyway. If you do not have this song in your collection then you are missing out. The B side is pretty good also, better then most other groups A sides. Just remember one thing...If She Loves You then every thing is YEA YEA YEA!!! Jim in sunny California.
