Cons: The pacing is way too fast. Ground me in one scene before you put me in another. It'll be less jarring when the writer switches from scene to summary if she takes her time. Way too much preaching about societal standards vs. gayness. I also don't want to hear how beautiful they both are every page or two. Show, don't tell. The happening with Kendall came clear out of left field. Don't necessarily buy the ending. Brief flashbacks to the formation of the friendship and high school misadventures are fine but the story doesn't pick up until college. That'd be a much better starting point. Maybe with Kendall being jealous at a party because of Tina and not knowing why.
Otherwise, it was fine.
Although the story was fiction it depicted the very real attitudes of those in the gay community who was struggling to come out of the closet and live their lives to the fullest. It also depicts those in the straight community who are unreasonable and are unable to explain why two people cannot express love one to another.
The storyline was very riveting and took a few twists and turns that I did not expect. As some other reviewers have pointed out there were some mechanical errors and a typo or two but it did not take away from the essence of what the author was trying to convey. Kudos to Shonda
It was a short book and it felt rushed at times, which made some of the writing seem subpar but the story was sweet.
Everyone loves a good love story, especially one where the two find each other again
I wasn’t expecting the tragedy and I’m not quite sure how I feel about it being added, it felt a little random
Overall it was pretty, not great but not bad.
