Update after many more months:
I used the umbrella on a strong windy day when I should not have, and it finally inverted. I then made the mistake of trying to force it closed. Several of the mechanism wires bent, so it rarely closes properly, with one or two flaps sticking out until you help it. So while I firmly believe it stands up to much stronger wind before inverting vs. the mini, I found the mini was never damaged by its inverting all the time.
Still, I've been thrilled with this umbrella and am ordering another.
My only complaint is that the handle is not 'real' wood, and the wood finish chips off very easily in spots with normal use. Under the wood finish is white, which is a huge bummer, because the handle looks bad now.
That said, rain is also a consideration. I didn't like the fact that water dripped in through the gap in between the two canopies. I'm looking at my cell phone under this umbrella as it is raining and it gets dripped on,
