About the Author
J. Don Shook, 2009 Poet Laureate of Texas and past President of The Fort Worth Poetry Society, has been on the Dallas/Fort Worth acting scene for over forty years. Wearing the many hats of actor, director, producer, and author, has award-winning scripts, television shows, and theatrical productions in his bag of credits. Formerly with NBC in New York, where he also performed at Carnegie Hall in Tom Booth’s opera “Gentlemen In Waiting”, he also announced for WNBC and was part of “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson. For five years he was a resident performer at Casa Manana Musicals in Fort Worth and has appeared as an actor in theatres across the country. His “Heritage Park CC” won the Crystal Award in 1988 as the Outstanding Drama in Community Access Television. Working with such stars as Dick Clark, Cybil Shepherd, Debbie Reynolds and Sid Caesar, he has performed in theatre, film and television nationwide, while also working with Mari Lyn Henry in Casting for ABC Daytime Television. Most recently, Don was named a winner in the Lucidity International Poetry Contest. He is also owner/producer/director of Don Shook Productions, offering outstanding live theatre productions throughout the Southwest. OTHER BOOKS by J.
