A great product and I would not hesitate to purchase it again. It is a little bit brittle but I don't mind that. It works fine for making sushi rolls and I can tear it up easy enough to add to rice bowls.

To all of you giving it a one star review because "it causes cancer":
Yes, there is a label on it that says it contains chemicals that can cause cancer and birth defects. But if you Google why that label is on seaweed, it comes back saying it is supposed to be on *all* seaweed products. There is a small amount of lead in seaweed which, here in the US, means it is supposed to be on all seaweed products. However, unless you're eating ungodly amounts of it, it's perfectly fine.

I probably would have given no stars if I could it says on the back of this product that consuming this product could expose me to to let or other chemicals! Seems a little dangerous to me?! I won't buy it again that's for sure! Lead in food is cancer-causing! And there was no warning until I got the package and it had it on the back of it so a hundred sheets for 12/29 good deal but not at the risk of my health! I never give negative reviews but seems like it's necessary in this case?!

Lose sushi and wanted to start trying to make my own at home finally. Had to do some reading to figure it out, here's some tips for people or "I wish I knew beforehand" stuff.

You don't need a sushi mat, helpful maybe but 100% not needed, you can get the same thing with a paper towel. What I found works best is get a full sheet paper towel and wet it. Wring out ALL the water so that it's just damp. Lay the wrap on top of it and press down lightly. You can't just roll the dried out wrap you need to get it a little moist, A LITTLE. as you're putting in your rice and toppings it will absorb the moisture the the towel and rice to loose it up. Then you can use the paper towel to help roll it or at least get it started the same way you would with a sushi mat.

Don't use a serrated knife to cut the role it will tare the sheet up, you need a smooth edge VERY SHARP knife to cut them. Sometimes I have to poke a small incision into the roll to get it started.

Taking them out of the bag without breaking them was challenging so I just cut open the bag and put them into a large freeze zip-lock with the moisture absorb pack. Careful with storage, they will break easily and keep them in a cool dry place as it says but I also suggest out of sunlight.

Side note, they do have a little bit of a strange taste to them and the Cali Prop 65 warning slightly concerned me with that in mind. I'll probably try to find a higher end brand in the future but just starting out and wanting something cheap to give it a shot they work great.

I bought these because I didn't want to pay for those pre-packaged roasted and salted seaweed sheets. I think they are too greasy and use a ridiculous amount of packaging. These are a great substitute. I recommend toasting them over an open flame for 1-2 seconds on each side. This will give them a smoky flavor and make them brittle enough that you can bite and tear it apart with your teeth. Otherwise, it will taste a bit too fishy and be difficult to tear.
