I don't usually write mousy heroines. I like my heroines confident and savvy. Heroines who can really handle their heroes.
So when Arya popped into my head, I wasn't really drawn to her story at first.
It was only when Arya knocked me over the skull and said, "Hey, I'm not who you think I am," that I agreed to bring her to life.
She convinced me that all those confident and savvy heroines have an origin story. So Sheikh with Benefits turned out to be the tale of how a shy girl learns to see herself differently--and make the world see her differently, too. Starting with getting the one man she wants most...
Arya Mokri is tired of being her father's upstanding daughter who does what she's told and never rebels. She's not getting any younger and is still a virgin. She's been in love with Sheikh Javad Shirin for as long as she can remember but he sees her as just a friend. But tonight, she's taking control, no matter the consequences.
Sheikh Javad Shirin cares for Arya more than he realizes, especially when she reveals she wants to lose her virginity to his older brother. He turns the tables on her and plays along, if only to save her from the embarrassment. But after a few close encounters, desire for Ayra boils over and she's everything he's ever wanted. But the morning after leaves him craving her in his bed every night but she spurns him. Will he break decorum to show her how much she means to him or will he let her slip away?
After reading Teresa Morgan's Desert Sheikh vs American Princess: Jewels of the Desert Book 2, I needed more sheikh romances. I picked up this one first and absolutely loved it! Highly recommend!
Long time friends Arya and Sheikh Javad value each other's friendship immensely. Javad, the prince and second son, feels protective of her and longs to see her but doesn't pursue her for more of a relationship for many reasons. Arya has always lived in her sister's shadows as the more subdued and shy sibling. Her father has required her to be at his side helping him in his diplomatic roles. In this role she has been around Javad for a long time and has grown to care for him at a soul deep level. But she has also grown weary of always having to put on a mask and play the perfect hostess. She longs for Javad to show any emotion to give her an indication that there might be more between them. Finally, she has had enough and decides to arrive at an event wearing the most eye-catching dress she can and announce that she is done being on the sidelines. She tells him, just to see his reaction and to force their relationship to take a turn one way or another, that she wishes to sleep with his brother, the king, and wants him to proposition him on her behalf. And that if he doesn't then she will find another man in the room willing to step up and be with her. Javad is forced once and for all to look at her and notice that she is more than a friend and that if he doesn't step up he may loose her forever. This story is very touching given the tenderness the both feel for each other.
Here is a story of a wallflower, Arya, who seems to quietly help Sheikh Javad when he least expects it. She has had a crush on him for so long. But she is not the beauty in the family. No her sisters are. So she devises a plan to suduce his brother. So that she can move on. Now it is up to Javid to stop her. This story is realy a sweet one of a woman trying to put away her childish crush and move on. I have read several of Teresa Morgan's books and enjoyed them all. You can almost place yourself in the h shoes.
What an absolute joy it was to read this quick but more than worth effort story. I had read a few other "Sheikh" romance stories and many are the same ideas, just packaged a little different. This story however, I found delightfully different. There is only a short time we get to "know" and learn about each character, but the author makes the most of it. No long, drawn out explanations of what each character is wearing, or what the surroundings are like, yet enough to make sure a mental picture is possible. Perhaps that is part of this story's charm. The reader can fill in the "blanks" on their own, allowing a bit more of a familiarity with the characters and places. Long story short (pun intended) you get a delightful, brief escape into somewhere else, where the happy endings are smile inducing, literally (pun intended, again).
I ordered Sheikh With Benefits but the one that was sent to my PC Kindle was Handcuffed to a Sheikh --- the cover was correct but not the contents. I tried to find out how to contact the seller but couldn't find out how --- i am hoping the seller will see this comment and get back with me. UPDATE: I did figure out how to contact Kindle about the error and they contacted me right away. I haven't been able to follow-up on their instructions because i have been ill, but they are working with me on it and are working on resolving the problem with integrety. For me, when i am working with someone and doing business with them, it is not a matter of having everything perfect all the time but rather how they seek to resolve an error when one does happen --- we are all human and all of us make mistakes despite our best efforts, but if we try to correct the error the best that we can, then that is an honorable person/company ---- and that is the reason that i changed my one star rating to five stars.
I borrowed this e-book from the library & i totally enjoyed the priveledge of owning a Kindle. This is a nice short romance story, its entertaining and amusing which is good for some quick reads. I love the way the author wrote both character's perspective. How I really wish its longer because there were some scenes and back stories that I wanted to know more and wanted to be discussed by the characters. I just felt so rushed, maybe I'm just so used to reading long stories that has depth, otherwise I enjoyed the book. I fell in love with the characters that made me wanted more of them. Eventhough the story was short, I love the fact that Javad - the hero is an alpha male, it would be nice to enjoy him more. He is so possessive and passionate. I recommend this book for a quick read, you'll not regret it.
This is a short story about love overcoming the odds, even in some of the more comical ways. A good read for someone who is looking for a quick Cinderella love story to brighten the day. Even though it is a short read the writer still managed to capture enough detail to transport you into the story. Well played...
