I'm glad i did Sheikh Kahill SEEMS LIKE JUST A ANGRY PERSON,
i did not like the way her treated Bryn but you stripe away all that and you have a good story this took me 4 hours to read i was surpise how time went by and how quick the book finish thats how into the book i was...
If your comfortable with these type of storylines where the heroine might get some harsh treatment from the hero then feel free to read IF NOT then this ain't the book for you...
Bryn didn't realize - they are still husband and wife! She knows she can't deny Ben the daddy's he's been asking for. So she agrees to return to Kahlil's desert kingdom. There she finds herself consigned to the harem quarters, where she must prepare for being taken back...into the Sheikh's bed!
Review: I'm a fan of the Presents series, but this was a tough one to like, even for the Alpha Male fan. The relationship was weak and the h was too willing to take the Hero's poor treatment.
Secondly, if you are not into Dominant Alpha males, then this book just isn't for you, period.
I could just so completely relate to the character of Bryn, and her husband, Khalil ... well, let's just say he's the stuff that dreams are made of!
Other reviewers have commented that Khalil was a little to harsh in the beginning, and while I do think the author, Jane Porter, did push the envelope a little, she doesn't go so far that you're just not finding the alpha male lead attactive anymore. As things turn out, although he was hard on Bryn, by the end of the novel, you're loving him as much as Bryn does.
Kudos to Miss Porter for creating the character of Bryn, where it was just so easy to project myself into her shoes. This is a real page turner, and I read most of it in one sitting. Best of all, this book does not rely on a lot of gratuitous sex to pull together weak characters and a boring, rehashed plot. What is best about Bryn is that she's willing to do whatever it takes to make her troubled marriage work. She's willing to say and do things that I might hesitate to say and do, but deep down inside, might really want to. That's why I got such a great feeling when I finished this book, but at the same time, I was let down to. I wish it had been twice as long as it was.
I saw a preview a few years ago of a movie called "Not Without My Baby." The preview was so upsetting that I didn't see the movie, although I'm sure the movie was gripping and thought-provoking. Part of this book reminded me of that upsetting preview and was hard to read. I'm also not sure that the changes in the characters' desires and personalities rang true. Yes, there was some great sexual tension, but all in all the book was quite disappointing.
I look forward to reading more of Jane Porter's books - hopefully the next one I read will be more rewarding like the other two I mentioned above. As for this one, I will probably give it away so that I don't waste my time again reading it.
THE SHEIKH'S WIFE takes the drama of romance, arresting characterization, and sizzling sexual tension to new heights for this sub-genre. Ms. Porter's writing style is crystal clear and smooth as silk. The plot was intriguing and certainly full of twists which can leave the reader guessing... and feeling pleasantly surprised too.
For those who enjoy stories about alpha males, this book will force you to put life on hold until you've reached the very last page... and then you'll want to start reading it all over again. It's that good! Don't miss it.
Kahlil clearly hasn't forgiven Bryn for abandoning her marriage vows, and when he discovers he has also missed the first three years of his son's life, he's even more determined to take revenge. This means using the intense sexual chemistry that still exists between them! Will Bryn be able to resist her husband...and then will he be able to walk away ?
