Officer Logan Tate is immediately drawn to Mia’s beauty and the precious bundle she is with in the hospital ER. After their second run in, he is determined to shelter them, to save them. A friendly gesture of a place to stay quickly blossoms in to more, but both are hesitant. Logan is the hot policeman that all the girls want, but the one girl he has his sights set on has her guard up wondering if any man would ever love her knowing the secret she has buried deep inside hoping it will never surface. Mia has trust issues growing up never feeling loved by her family especially after their ultimatum of giving Lily to a wealth, adoptive family.
I loved Mia and Logan. Mia for all she has been through has a good head on her shoulders and Logan is the knight in shining armor (or uniform) that is almost too good to be true. I felt invested in their love, worried about their pasts and hopeful for their future. There was more to this than a love story with slippery people from the past, jealous people of the present and some crazy family members that kept me flipping through the pages. I also adored the epilogue!! I wish all books had an epilogue.
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
Mia Reynolds is seventeen and has just given birth to her daughter, shortly before her own 18th birthday. Her parents were embarrassed by her mistake, and forced her to hide her pregnancy and abandon any outside relationships. Their options to Mia were simple, keep the baby and get no help from them, or give the baby up for adoption and go to college. Mia was all set to give up Lily to the adoptive parents until she held her for the first time. From that moment on, Mia's decision was clear; no one was taking Lily away from her. She liquidated her savings account and jumped on a bus with her baby. Not long after arriving into Philadelphia she meets Logan Tate. Logan wants to help Mia and Lily, but Mia will trust no one, especially after what she has been through.
This isn't just another teen pregnancy story, there are some real issues from Mia's past that become clear near the end of the book, there is a reason that Mia has run so far from her parents and continues to try to run from Logan. This was a New Adult romance, with a sweet love story and some great drama near the end. The story between Mia and Logan will have you pulling for Logan; you genuinely want to see the two of them happy. At times the book was a bit farfetched for me at times. It seemed like sometimes things came too easy for Mia, but at the same time, I was happy not to have the sad drama that could have arisen. Due to the content, some mild sexual content, a bit of violence I would say this is geared toward anyone 18 an over that enjoys a good HEA with no cliffhanger.
I enjoyed this novel by Alice, and I look forward to reading more of her work.
Mia takes her saved money and a couple of things and run away with Lily. First stop: Savannah, Georgia (Lovely), Mia and her baby travel three cities more until arrive their destiny: Pennsylvania. She decides to change her name and starts a low profile life while she becomes in a legal adult and no one can take away her baby.
Logan is a sweet, cute and sexy cop who was raised in a strong and lovely family. He has a quiet life between his work and family. He meets Mia at a hospital and he feels a tender about her and the sweet baby, so he offers to help her to find a job. Suddenly Logan becomes in their protector feeling the strong necessity of being with them. But Mia is keeping more secrets than her real name.
What will happen with these secrets see the light?
Will Mia run of her new life?
When I read the summary of this book I was so intrigued because I never had read something like that before. After I read the prologue I knew I wasn’t wrong when I asked to review it.
The storyline looks very well, the author describes perfectly the emotional travel of Mia, becoming a mom, then take the decision of run away and start a new life all by herself, trust in strange people like Logan and her boss, take the risk of falling in love with Logan. There was something I adored about this character she doesn’t want to be rescued by him; she needs to feel independent like mother her daughter deserves.
Logan what can I say about him? I love him. This man always knew he wanted.Read more ›
It was a very well written story about a 17 year old girl Mia who just had a baby and was trying to find a way to escape from her past. She receives help from a nurse at the hospital help Mia start a fresh new life with her and her daughter Lily. She ends up in a small town in Pennsylvania but soon runs into a police officer Logan Tate. When Mia and Logan look at each other for the first time, Logan is captivated by not only her but her daughter Lily. He then begins to create this protectiveness for the both of them.
At first, Mia and Logan become friends and then realize they both want more. This story was very heartfelt and you will soon find out that Mia has secrets from her past and that is why she feels like she has to keep running to avoid danger for not only her and Lily but towards people who she cares for and loves.
There are unexpected twists and things that are revealed in the story that will tug at your heart. I cannot wait to read more of this Author's writings.
