The weight of my gate was too heavy and thus when opened would drag on the ground. I purchased this to help fix that. It went on easily, however the weight of the gate completely collapsed the spring so it would still drag. I gave it 5 stars still, because really it isn't a fault of design, just wasn't what I exactly needed. I used my drill press and drilled a hole below the metal plate below the spring. In the hole I placed a bolt so it could no longer sink down. The gate now opens very smoothly.
I highly recommend this product, just consider how you'll be using it.

This poor wheel has held up my fence gate for quite awhile now and oh boy does it get beat up. It's not on flat ground and the cement isn't even level because of the lil rocks in it. But this wheel still looks pretty darn good. The wheel itself is scratched up but that's about it. It's been out there for a good 6? months now too.

Just what I needed. My swinging gate was sagging and using the wheel to keep it propped up works great. I basically set it so that the spring is completely compressed when the gate is latched as that's the highest point as the gate is opened the wheel stays in contact. With a lighter gate, you might not need to fully compress the spring when installing, but my 4' wooden gate is pretty heavy.

Works Great. Easy Installation.
The only complaint that I would have is that the wheel is a bit to narrow. I installed mine on a 8' wooden gate and I'm afraid that the wheel will eventually sink into the ground. However so far it is working great!!!

Decent price and works okay but not great. My biggest problem is that the spring will not support the weight of my gate without completely depressing it, and the bracket needs to be about 1/2-3/4 of an inch wider to prevent the wheel from rubbing against the gate. I had to use a "spacer" to get more clearance between the wheel and the chain link gate frame.

Quick Service, decent price. One issue is when attached it to my vinyl gate the wheel can spin 360 degrees but a too small offset between the wheel and the mounting plate causes the wheel to lock on or rub against the gate. I added three washers between the unit and the gate which solved the issue

So far, so good. My wood gates swing open so easy now after spending the last couple of years fighting the cheap, wore out ones that were on there. Compressing the spring while bolting to the gate was kind of a PITA with one person, but it's doable. No instructions, so really not sure how far the spring is supposed to be compressed.

Purchased for out privacy fence gate and it doesn't work. Does not roll well.

Bought this wheel for a gate. It ended up being way too big. The black wheel itself is 4 inches in diameter. I had thought the total height of the wheel and spring/brace was 4 inches. This is very big and heavy. Built well. But this would be used on a large gate in a driveway or carport. Overall height is around 10-12 inches.
