Wouldn’t it be great if we could stock up the hours others have wasted or don’t want? Did you know that most people waste at least two hours every single day? Unfortunately, no one can loan us any of their spare time. Most of have an inkling that we actually do have time for the things we’ve complained there was no time for. Blog postSacred Surgery The historical surgery took place on February 15, 1921. Dr. Kane applied local anesthesia to his patient and cut through skin and tissues, found the infected appendix, removed it. The patient assured the medical team he experienced minimal pain and discomfort. The patient’s name? Dr. Evan Kane. The patient and the doctor were one in the same person.
In the 1920’s, removing an appendix was considered major surgery, requiring a large incision, and always needing general6 months ago Read more -

Today would have been my 39th wedding anniversary with Pastor Paul Giesbrecht . Our marriage ended on October 17, 2009 as he was promoted to heaven through his tragic motorcycle accident. For those who’ve lost loved ones, whether it be an accident, murder, suicide or anticipated (as in cancer or other terminal illness) I understand. It’s so hard to accept Gods will when it hurts so bad. It’s hard to make sense of our suffering w7 months ago Read more -

Blog postWe will meet again. Soon, and very soon. Today is April 29, 2020, the sixty-third birthday of Paul Eugene Giesbrecht. But it’s our eleventh year to celebrate his birthday on this earth with out him. It’s hard to know what to do with the birthday of someone who has died. It definitely should not be forgotten. Yet it’s stressful to remember. Ecclesiastes 7:1 says, “The day you die is better than the day you are born.” Then why does remembering feel so painful?

Chaos. Changes. Challenges. In addition to figuring out life in quarantine, we’ve made unprecedented decisions about how to spend our time as we “stay safe, stay home.” I’ve been asking myself the question,

Apr 27, 2014
$9.99
Life is not always easy or fair for the follower of Christ. Yet, Sheryl Giesbrecht has learned, from the depths of past pain, it is possible to be raised up. It is possible to heal. Most importantly, it is possible to exchange hurt for hope. In her inspirational new book, Get Back Up: Trusting God When Life Knocks You Down, Sheryl tells her own story. She uses scripture to tell the stories of so many other Biblical figures who stumbled before they could be helped up.
Sheryl's message is one of hope. Trusting God in the midst of a life turned upside down is essential to survival. Without Him, life would not be worth living. Climbing out of the pits of despair would be impossible. Yes, with God to lean on, finding hope is possible. Healing is possible. God is capable of taking our losses and mistakes and turning them into something remarkably beautiful. Won't you let Him?
