Came in 1 day to my surprise, and I absolutely love it. The artwork is superb focuses mainly on Persona 3 and 4, but has artwork from 2 dropped in it as well as a few other titles I haven't heard of. Well worth the money, especially considering I paid much less for it online than I would have at my local import store.

Well...this book is just what any fan of the Persona series would want in a matter of artbooks. It's just priceless to have such great material in such a good presentation. The paper used is great for the ilustrations and you even get a interview woth Mr. Soejima as a bonus.

Shigenori Soejima is the character designer at Atlus, the Japanese video game publisher.

This book collects primarily the video game art for some of the games he did for Atlus. They are
Persona 3 , Persona 3 FES , Persona 3 Portable , Persona 4 , Stella Deus  and a small section of his non-video game works.  Catherine  is not included as it came out in 2011.

This book is actually the translated edition of the original Japanese book (ISBN 4047267473) that was published in 2010. The difference here is there's no translucent dust jacket.

The illustrations are beautiful. I like the manga style, the line work and the colours. The interview actually explains the difference between anime and manga style, such as the use of cast shadows instead of tone shades. The coloured illustrations are all printed full page while the opposite pages are mostly wasted white space by printing the accompanying line art at only quarter page size. There are several two-page artworks that are quite difficult to see because they are printed across the gutter. One rather good piece is split at the character's nose.

The lengthy interview is a good read. Shigenori Soejima talks about how he got started drawing, the influences he has, design concepts, and all the other work he did at Atlus that were not published. He actually contributed to a lot of games but only those that had artwork are included in this book.

Much of the work in the book were actually collected in other Japanese art books dedicated to the games themselves, such as
Persona 3: Official Design Works  and  Persona 4: Official Design Works , both which Udon will also be translating. The duplication is extensive. So, you can either get two of the video game art books, or just this book.

Every page is so colorful, one after another. If you are a Persona 3~4 fan, this is a must.

Colorful and fine artwork. Your favorite characters in high quality. Artwork of Persona 3, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 and others.

The big question is, why not?

Shigenori Soejima is a very well accomplished character designer and this collection of his work on the Persona series as well some others proves it. I highly recommend this book for other aspiring character artists and fans of the Persona series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful book at a great price

I got this for under $30 a while back, and I was not disappointed. Everything is printed very well and the quality is quite great. Unfortunately, as Amazon.ca's free shipping uses Purolator, it was slightly bent up by the time it got to me (not nearly as bad as many other things I have gotten from Purolator...), but I have it sitting under some other books and it seems to be smoothing out just fine. If you like Shigenori Soehima's art, this book is a pretty good buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wundervolle Bilder, einfach klasse!

Stunning artowork! I admit, I don't know much about the Persona series but the cover caught my eye. The art style is very VERY clean, very crisp and stunning colours. Great for anime/manga fans. Highly recommended.
