These hubs come in a 16 point (2011) and 32 point (2012) engaging freehub body. The one I got is 16 point, a very solid 16 point but it would have been nice to get the 32 point version. Apparently there is no way to tell as the model numbers are exactly the same. So you don't know until you get it. Besides that, the bearings are butter smooth and the freehub is stout and a bit louder than I've come to expect from Shimano which is not a bad thing. Solid hub for dirt cheap.

This hub is last years high grade deore hub. I laced it to my sawyer to run singlespeed and the sound of the cassette body is soid and robust. I have had only one op so far out of it but no disconect. Best hub for the price!

Very quiet hub and seems very strong. EXCELLENT value for a real cassette freehub. Cassette freehubs are the best option for most any bike. I use an 8 speed Shimano casette with this, and it fits perfectly.
