Mr. Butko's book is wonderful, and I actually got a little emotional looking at the photos, because they brought back so many pleasant memories of my parents and those enjoyable road trips we took. The book is full of great photos, and interesting text which filled me in on a lot of information about the Ship that I never knew. I believe the last time I stopped at the Ship was in 1969; and it was still thriving. I'm so thankful I didn't see it in its decline.
The Ship Hotel was one of those great places that existed in a simpler time. If you were one of the lucky people to have stopped at the Ship in the 50's or 60's (or even the 40's), this book might bring back many memories, and I recommend it.

Although I was probably 5 or 6 at the time of my visit I remember being out on the deck enjoying the view. This book has put together all of the missing pieces that I may have been too young to remember at the time. As an adult I've always wanted to go back but after hearing of the fire a short time after it happened, I knew that would never be possible. I'm just glad that everyone's interest has held up over the years to allow Brian Butko to write this book.
It is a must have for anyone that has been to the ship or wanted to goto it.
great memory for me and all my extended family. We all enjoyed it!
