I was born in the late 60s and raised by my grandparents. My grandmother got me loving all of Shirley Temple’s movies. Great memories! Her movies will never fade. I’ve enjoyed sharing it with my children and now with my grandchildren. They luv her!

I love all of her movies, but this one is the best. The songs, and the orphanage just pull at my heart strings! I love falling asleep to her classic movies :)

Shirley Temple is a fine lil actress and wrote a very interesting autobio.
This film seems formulaic...Shirley as always is missing parent/s.
She sings Animal Crackers and really sells it. She and elder sister, Mary, are in an orphanage at the film's opening. The plot is prosaic and predictable.
Mary seems too old to be at an orphanage but she needs to be, "Of age" to make the arc of the story palatable.
I prefer Bright Eyes, The Little Princess and The Little Colonel to this film.
Poor Shirley...she saved a studio from financial ruin as a child of 5. Her parents spent almost her entire earnings in providing for the entire family. Temple relates all in her autobio, Child Star.
She seemed to have been an antidote to the depression that hit in the 30s.

I gave it to my granddaughter for a gift and she finally watched it after having it for almost 1-month. She liked it.

A must for Shirley Temple Fans.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on August 23, 2014
I am not only a long time fan of Shirley Temple but also of colourised movies, this movie is a good example of both. Shirley is her usual cute little self in a story about a little orphan who does a bit of match making for her older sister and the millionaire who has taken them in. The picture quality is very good given the age of the movie and the colourization is also of good quality.
