Like all the other books in the series I really loved this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I had to restrain myself from flipping to the last page to see how it ended.
There is mystery and suspense, funny and sweet moment. And also quite a lot action, but the main tone of the book was emotional. Bother Gabrielle and Charity have dealt with past and recent trauma. It has shaped them in the way the interact with others and how they deal with things. It is different for both of them, but they are able to connect. I really enjoyed both characters.
And can I have a Levi?
I am sad to see this series end, but I am sure there will be other books.
1, that whatever Lisa Clark O'Neill writes is going to make me laugh and
2,I will not be able to put the book down, this book was no different!
A young girl, Gabe, is the only witness to a teenagers disappearance, although she didn't know it at the time. Years later when the cold case is reopened after new evidence is found, she meets a crime writer who helps her navigate her memories of the disappearance. Along the way she meets a girl with unique abilities who may know more about the case than is safe.
Levi was funny, sarcastic, smart and sweet all rolled up into a very large cowboy who doesn't back down. I do wish we were given a little more description of what he looked like (and some of his history), but my imagination was able to make up for that!
Gabe was strong female, who wasnt about to take any bullshit from this cowboy. She is a female working in a male dominated field and knew how to take care of herself, but also knew that she had areas of herself that she needed to work on.
I feel like things wrapped up a little faster than I would have liked at the end, but overall this is a great book that I know I will be reading again!
