Insta-attraction. Insta-GFY (or is it Bi-For-You?). The author seeemd to have a hard time with this one. It was hard to buy that over 4 days these MCs fell so hard for each other.
The plot was of the mystery sort, but rather flat and easy to predict.
I liked the interaction of the four friends. Will I continue on with this fabled series? Maybe. Some of the other characters interested me. But there are sooooo many other books on my TBR and even real stacks of books on my nightstand that will likely come before I continue on with this series.
Gotta give it up for a great cover, though!
That being said, I'm going to go off on side rant a little. This series, I have never come across it in all my long searches for books I might like to read in the m/m romance genre. However, for a while now my searches have been bringing up a book called Psycho Romeo: Ward Security. I skipped over this book for a long time thinking "why would someone want to read about a disturbing romance in a psych ward?".
I was lucky that I happened to get so desperate for a new book that I started reading blurbs for titles that I had been skipping over. Not only did reading the blurb make me interested, but I also learned it was a spin off from Unbreakable Bonds, and that the Ward Security is a security company and not security for a psych ward.
If that book didn't have such an off putting title I would have discovered this series a lot sooner. Just saying.
Drake and Elliott are new to me authors, I think I came upon the series through another author recommendation and I wish I could remember who it was now, because I want to thank them!
Shiver has everything, a little angst, a lot of suspense and action, wonderful cast of characters, dark and tortured alpha heroes and M/M romance. Oh and let's not forget the steamy sexy! Yowsa!
Four friends, who are more like family, with unbreakable bonds, and this first book in the series has everything you could possibly want for those of us who love the dark, romantic suspense genre.
Go, hurry, get this on your TBR list, you won't be sorry...I already have book 2, but there's no doubt I'll be reading them all!

Main Characters: Lucas & Andrei
5 out of 5 stars
I really enjoyed the dynamics between Lucas and his 3 friends. I liked the development of the characters and am thinking they will be more fully developed in future books in the series. This was fast paced, intense in spots. Lucas, Snow and Rowe seem to be pretty alpha while Ian seems to be a little more effeminate. Rowe is straight & married while the other three are gay or bi. I like the back story for Lucas, Snow & Rowe being previously in the military and they along with Ian seem to be more like family/brothers. Lucas appears to be the glue that holds them together. Lucas ends up needing a bodyguard who is provided by his friend Rowe. Andrei is a former MMA fighter and straight. He ends up being bi-curious. Love the foreplay between or buildup if you will between these two main characters. I have only been reading m/m romances for about a year now and this book ranks in my top three just behind Patricia Logan's 'Death and Destruction series.' I highly recommend this series. Next up for me is 'Unbreakable Stories: Lucas' by these same authors. Will definitely read more by these two, they are a winning combination.
I loved this story. Love the family these four men have created and how devoted they are to each other. The mystery part of the story kept me glued to my Kindle and the sexy MCs are yummy. I also enjoy the fact that we are slowly seeing the events of the past unfold over the course of a series of books. Glad I finally read it and Shatter (book 2 of the Unbreakable Bonds Series) is now loaded and ready to go. I actually want to devour the rest of this series - no pun intended.
