"I love the colors and feel of this book. The designs are so well done and the words creative and provoking imaginative thought. This is a great read and can be used as story starters too. Three cheers for a children's book that makes sense! " -reader, Anne Bausch "This is such an adorable book! I got copies for all of the kiddos I babysit as well as my nieces and nephews for Christmas. The illustrations are bright and beautiful and the accompanying poems are super cute!" -reader, Crystal VanArtsDalen "I really enjoyed the illustrations (will look at shoes in a whole different way) and the stories that went with them. This book represents an unique way to learn the alphabet." -reader, Heather Greenburg "We love this book! The artwork is phenomenal, and Sarah is great with words! My daughter loves looking at the shoes and figuring out how they form each letter of the alphabet." -homeschool mom, Alisha Miller "Not only is the physical quality of this book great, the writing and illustrations are creative and beautiful. Reading The Shoephabet stirs the imagination and makes the alphabet come to life! My favorite letter is M -such style she has." -reader, Heidi Johnson "Unique and beautiful. Each page is a fun story about the letters and the letters have their own flair ! I am a Grandma to 3 young children who are drawn to the creative. I know they will love this book. Artwork and writing is so exceptional. Everyone should have a "pair" of Shoephabet books. One for yourself and one to share. Not the typical ABC book. You will instantly fall in love with each letter and their individual "life" brought through in the artwork and writing." -reader, Deb LaRoy "We LOVE this book! The adorable rhymes roll easily off the tongue, I can't help but bob my head to the beat of the flow! It is a timeless book that is sure to entertain kids of all ages!" -homeschool mom and author, Jami Stichter "This is such a fun and creative book of the alphabet! My children love tracing the letters in the shoes for each page! What?! H can't ride a bike?! My six year old was very interested in the story details of each letter and my eight year old loved the details put into each shoe letter. This is a creative and engaging book for your shelf!" -reader, Jen Bartlett "The Shoephabet is such a fun book! I love it! It is beautifully printed, and the illustrations are awesome. I think it is a fun way for little ones to use their imagination- finding letters among the pages of shoes! The poems are charming and really enjoyable for all ages!" -reader, Becca Garberson --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.
From the Author
Sarah Steele loves writing with rhyme and rhythm. She got lucky enough to marry an artist, and together they have entered the picture book world, pairing amusing rhymes with classical art. In between writing moments (and all throughout), she is called "Mom" by three little redheaded Hoosiers, ages 5 and under.

My only critique is that I did not know what some of the shoes were. Perhaps if I were a shoe connoisseur I would be EVEN more into this. But I am the kind of person who buys at most one pair of cheap shoes a year, and couldn't tell you the difference between Toms and Ray Banz. (Are those shoe brands?)
That being said, my three-year old daughter likes the book (especially the ballet slippers!) and I can't wait to see what this author duo comes up with next in their Monster Alphabet book!!
My husband and I have been gifting this to all of our friends with children and have seen not only the children enjoy this fun read but have seen the parents excited to turn the page as they read aloud.
Great book to help create some quality time and fun dialogue with your kids.
