Shooting Scars is book 2 in the Artists Trilogy series. So far this series is the most annoying and frustrating one I have ever read. The reason I say this is because I get so frustrated while reading the books that I'm ready to dump them but then it sucks me back in and I can't put it down. These characters are so messed up I want to strangle them all. The first half of this book was so slow with Camden and Ellie going separate ways. Camden goes to maybe start a life with his ex-wife and son. I was shocked at what his ex-wife did and I would love to know why she hates him so much. Ellie is now with Javier and the moment they were together I just knew she would wind up back in his bed. Her feelings are so confused, I honestly don't understand how she could have done it. I know she loved him once but after every thing I felt like it was a terrible betrayal to Camden. Javier is still his sexy bad ass self who I honestly have no idea about. I know he has this lust for Ellie and was definitely jealous when she spoke about Camden but other than that he is always planning something and I just don't trust what his true intentions are. Like I said this series has a way of sucking you in, because by the 60% mark I couldn't put it down and I can't wait to start book 3.
Camden McQueen the boy will do anything to save Ellie from Javier. He and his new buddy Gus who I think has the biggest secret of all. These 2 as a team is hysterical they will do anything to help Ellie. They will not give up on her. Even if she broke Camdens heart.
Javier is losing his men they are changing sides and he need the one woman who will love to pay this bastard back for what he did to her. Ellie will have no choice but to go and do as Javier says. Shes a pawn to be played .
The ending you got to be kidding me like Ahhhh come on
The past caught up with Ellie and when her past now is connected with Camdens past things get heated.Dirty tricks are used and to save Camden and his son, Ellie makes the hardest decision she ever had to make; She leave with Javier.
Javier gives Ellie an utimatum; help him bring justice to him and at the same time she gets the revenge she always wanted, or he will kill Camden.
Ellie felt she was trapped -she could leave at any point, but then her love,Camden would die.
Ellie was just a piece in Javiers Power game.
Through lies, blackmailing, hurt, old feelings and mistakes Javier and Ellie leaves for Mexico.
So Ellie belived in all of Javiers lies. A fool for doing so? Maybe. But her feelings for him was true, she did love him.So she trusted him. Camden was history - or so she thought
I've said this about Karina Halle before.
I think she is an amazing Author. I love the way she Writes. The way she in one book can make me so furious, angry, sad, happy, teary and make me feel love for the book and her characters.
This is what you will find in the pages of Karina Halle's Shooting Scars! For those of you that have been on pins & needles waiting for this installment, the wait is now over! And let me say, the wait was so worth it!! Karina Halle brought everything I expected to this installment. There are still so many questions to be answered, and conflicts to be resolved. This book is told in Ellie and Camden's alternate POV, which I loved!
Once again, this was a crazy ride and the characters are so much fun to read. Javier Bernal is bad! He's so very bad, but I constantly find it impossible to hate him even thought I probably should. I'm going to take the opportunity now to say that if you haven't read On Every Street which is not necessary to read before reading this, It is my recommendation that you do. It will give you all the deets on Ellie and Javier's past, and I think it does add to the reading experience of this book. Now, Back to Javier... He is hot, sexy, a criminal and your not so average bad influence. He is the dark and painful part of Ellie's past come to reclaim her. Only if it were that simple. Javier always has his own agenda which is always the priority, but then he does something that makes me think that maybe he does have something good in that black heart of his.
Ellie Watt.... Well I was mad at her, then found myself just as conflicted as she was. But she is such a likable character, that I find it difficult to stay mad at her. Ellie is ever the pawn, someone always waiting to use her for their own gain, their own agenda. Now there's a new game and the stakes are higher than ever, and Ellie must make some very hard decisions, decisions that will put her life at risk. Ellie has a good heart, even though she does bad things. She will put those she loves above all else, even herself. Ellie finally comes face to face with the man who scarred her life, and is responsible for who she has become. Except maybe that person was lost in the light of Camden McQueen.
Cam... Cam... Camden McQueen *sigh* The tattoo artist.
I can't say enough about him. I love him because he is real, he is crazy, he is intense, he is dark and he is genuine in his love, he's a stand up guy, and wears his heart on his sleeve. He is the sexy, hot, muscley nerd, and he makes my heart flutter. Cam is on the adventure of a life time to save the woman he loves from the evil villain Javier Bernal. There is no limits to what he'll do to get to her. He also must face some difficult situations and heartbreaking choices. Camden is definitely a swoon worthy hero who wields a wicked needle.
This is such an exciting series, with so many twists and turns. One helluva ride!

Holy sh*t! That ending, did not see any of that coming. I am a little irritated with Ellie for falling for Javiers snake like charm again.Read more
