From the Inside Flap
She didn't step out of the shadows, she materialized, and that fact brought Jimmy to a sharp and sudden stop. He stared at her, his brain attempting to process what he had witnessed while he took in details about the woman before him.
She was small, perhaps no more than five feet, and dressed all in black. White hair hung in thick curls around an old and wizened face, and her eyes danced with fury. As Jimmy tried to grasp the impossibility of the woman's appearance, he came to the slow realization that he could see through her.
She's a ghost, he thought dully.
"You wish to leave my company?" the dead woman demanded.
"Yes," he whispered.
Her smile was cold, the expression chilling his blood. "You wish to go to your friends?"
"Yes," Jimmy said, nodding.
"You have no desire to be in my house? To stay any longer in my pride and joy?"
"I want to go. Please," Jimmy begged. His mind raced, unable to understand what was going on around him. "Listen, I don't know what I'm doing."
Before he could say anything else, she stepped forward, reached up, and grasped him by the hair. He screamed and clumsily swung at her with both hands. His fists passed through the woman, and her laughter pierced his ears.
"No!" he shrieked. "Let go of me!"
The dead woman tugged viciously, knocking him off-balance and sending him to the floor with a crash. Her fingers never let go, and in a matter of seconds, he felt himself being dragged along the rough boards.
Panting, Jimmy clawed at the wood. His nails tore out, and his fingertips were shredded. While the blood poured from his wounds, he still tried to stop himself. His eyes darted about the attic, looking for something to hold onto. She pulled him to the chimney, and for a heartbeat, his fingers touched one of the iron rings.
The blood made the metal too slick, and the ring fell out of his grasp.
"Your friends," the dead woman said coldly. "They are waiting for you. There, on the street, where they are safe. They are smart. You, you are stupid. I am doing the world a favor, foolish boy. It will not suffer your offspring, as I will not suffer you."
A cold hand wrapped around his neck and Jimmy felt himself lifted high.

"Gambling" by Ron Ripley : Foolishness is an unfortunate trait of Youth, whether it's racing, pranks, alcohol, controlled substances. In this case, it's pride and egotism, pricked by a dare and a wager. Implacable horror!
"Shadow Creature " by Anna Sinjin: I empathized with the protagonist. What she has to encounter should not happen to anyone. Again, implacable horror.
"Born Tonight " by Rowan Rook: historical French story weaving actual events. So sad.
What I really like about these stories is that they touch things deep inside of my psyche, things that I would just as soon remained hidden. They make me question my reality and that is a huge undertaking. Maybe there really are things out there that go bump in the night or make themselves seen only by those who are fated to see them. This is good stuff.
Story #1 - Greed? You're betting? Read and learn what to do or Not?
Story #2 - A spirit with bad intentions, a sleepwalker without knowledge…Ahhhhh, wake up!!!
Story #3 - I want to save you? How, when, where?…if I can't save you, what's going to happen?
I received this book for free and no obligation whatsoever. I'm reviewing it cause I like it
These three stories are sure to send the deepest and darkest fears that you have creeping in, and they are not going to leave you disappointed. Ron Ripley, as usual, is amazing, and his story is one that is going to leave you afraid to turn the page!
If you enjoy a good horror read, you need to check this one out.
