Welcome to Anger, New Hampshire. We hope you enjoy your stay…
Bloodthirsty spirits lurk beyond the doors of an old asylum. ‘Corporate benefits’ take on a whole new meaning when a young artist is offered a sinister contract. And a trio of teenagers learn that it’s not polite to disturb the dead…
Scare Street is proud to present the best in bone-chilling supernatural horror. This volume takes readers to the quiet little town of Anger, featuring three blood-curdling new tales for your reading pleasure. But watch out… In Anger, the dead lie restless in their graves.
Sometimes, when the full moon hangs over the graveyard, the cries of the spirits echo through the night. Can you hear their whispering voices? Can you feel the cold chill of their touch creeping up your spine?
No? Then you’re safe until you turn another page…

From the Inside Flap
She squeezed her eyes closed and tried to catch her breath, yet each time she did, the pain renewed itself, and she broke into another fit of crying.
Carol didn't know how long she laid there, but when she finally was able to stop her tears and look around, Annette and Billy were nowhere to be seen. She pushed herself into a sitting position and shuddered at the pain as it pulsated through her entire body. Carol tried to stand up, but her injury hurt too much.
Instead, she leaned against the nearest headstone and closed her eyes. After several minutes, Carol opened her eyes and saw the sky was darkening. Storm clouds were coming in from the south, and the wind had picked up its pace. The leaves and branches of the birch trees around Hall Burial Ground twisted and bent in ways that didn't seem possible. Carol tried to take hold of the headstone and pull herself up, but when she reached up, the pain in her stomach exploded, coursing through her and stabbing each limb.
"No," she gasped, sinking back down. Images of her mother and father yelling at her, of Annette lying about what had happened, filled her mind, and Carol couldn't bear it. Sobbing, she tried to crawl off of the grave, but something stopped her.
The soft rustle of fabric and the whisper of shoes on grass. Around her, the wind increased, and she huddled closer to the headstone. The sound of the shoes and the fabric frightened her. She did not think it might herald the return of Annette and Billy, or that it might be someone looking to help.
She knew there was something wrong about the burial ground. Something that didn't want her there.
I don't want to be here, either, Carol thought, shuddering. But I can't go. Not yet.
As the thought crossed her mind, she heard whispering. Soft, subtle words, all of them unintelligible. They were bad words. Not in the sense that she would have been punished for saying them, but that they were just bad.
Bad things would happen if she knew what they meant. Things would die. Not just animals and bugs, but people, too.
Especially people, Carol understood.

About the authors
Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.
Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.

Anger Asylum: Patrick begins his first night making his rounds in the asylum. He is warned never to open the door to
teenager Katie’s room. He opens it, anyway.
26 Main Street: Dylan Kessel is an unemployed artist. He receives an email from The Odd Fellow’s Building, promising a salary and benefits. He is more than happy to get an interview.
Hall Burial Ground: Little Carol only wants to go home. Her teenaged sister, Annette, wishes she was dead.
Annette, and her boyfriend Billy, wants to shortcut through the Hall Burial Ground. Carol doesn’t feel right about it because it is where the dead live.
However, Annette and Billy goes through the cemetery, anyway. And Carol follows them.
"26 Main Street": A remarkable Weird Fiction tale, with overtones of Lovecraftian horror. If the implacability here isn't Cosmic--it should be. Certainly it's inescapable.
"Hall Burial Ground": Of all the bad places in a town that is generally out of joint, the Hall Burial Ground is Anger, New Hampshire's absolute worst--and that's quite an achievement. An extremely unsettling tale; I predict I'm going to have multiple nightmares out of this.
All stories in this volume by Ron Ripley.
I wish I could borrow a part of Ron Ripley's imagination. He has so many neat things in there that he surely wouldn't miss a few of them, would he? These stories just keep getting better and better.
