This book combines all the things I love- suspense, romance, medical trauma and mystery.
Laney is a hardworking dedicated trauma nurse who loves her job and is dedicated to all her patients. She works along side Dr. Josh Stone who is hot, but Laney thinks is a complete ass.
Josh has been watching and waiting for the right time to ask Laney out on a date. He knows she works as hard as he does and will understand his schedule. After working together on a teenager who was almost killed in a motor cross accident, Josh admires her more than ever and has to ask her out.
This book isn't just a love story, it is also a suspenseful mystery to find out just what happened on the motor cross track and if it was really an accident.
Laney also finds herself the target of a stalker that is threatening her safety. Can she trust anyone? Is Josh all that he appears? The ending of this book will leave you gasping.
This story follows a number of characters who are somewhat entwined in each other lives. Josh and Laney work at the emergency department and love what they do.
Then we have Skylar a motocross rider that has an unfortunate accident, or was it an accident? Rebecca his mother is by his side and we see a little something develop and thus her voice has a huge impact in the story.
This story was juicy because it had everything a good mystery book is made off. I enjoyed the pace of the story and I can’t wait to start the next book. Who is the stalker? It’s like waiting on the other foot to drop, I love it!!!
Being the two main characters are a nurse and a doctor, please be advised there is some medical-ese when they're dealing with patients. But, even if you don't know exactly what they're talking about, it doesn't detract from the story.
I love the banter between the characters. It's easy and feels so natural it draws you in and make you want to keep reading. Things were tied up by the end of the book, but to me it feels like things were left just open enough to be brought into a second book. There is a second book, so hopefully it will continue the stories from this one.
Get this book and enjoy. There seems to be a Happily Ever After or two.
