It is one of those scriptures that I keep close in mind, because it reminds us that no matter how assured of ourselves we can be there are incidents that might come our way that test everything we think we know about life and others. That is something that Stephen Caputi realized in his life and after going through situations that threatened to destroy him, he has written the book I SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN MOROCCO letting us all see how quickly our circumstances can change---and the choices we have to make when they do.
The book allows you to see what happened that landed Stephen in prison but also the man he was able to become because of the experience. So many times we have those "hindsight being 20/20" moments in our lives. With this book we are able to see that what matters is not how many mistakes you make but what you do afterwards.
I was also glad to see that through his ordeal Stephen chose to see how others could benefit from what he had experienced and the lessons he had learned. He is now able to not just share with us in a book but through his actions allow others to know that they are not going through situations alone.
Definitely a book that allows us to see that not all that glitters is gold and reminds us that what matters is how many times you get back up after a fall, I SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN MOROCCO motivates you to be your best.
Reading his story, was a lot like one, that I COULD have written, but, thankfully did not.
Fortunately, for me, when I realized that my phones were bugged-I stopped ALL communication with my seducer.
I was a good girl, wildly in love with a charming, successful man for 6 years.
He owned mortgage companies Nationwide. He was the most charming, brilliant man you could ever met. He remembered everyone's name and story, always. Though, he did not do drugs or drink.
He did go to jail. However, he took down many people and financial institutions before he was convicted.
To the Author. Yes Stephen you should absolutely have stayed in Morocco. Absolutely.
