It won’t take you long to learn that every word that A.L. Jackson pens to life is MEANINGFUL; every word MATTERS. Every word that this author writes is FULL OF FEELS. Every word BLEEDS BEAUTY. Every word is mesmerizing and meaningful. Every word means everything. Every word is EVERYTHING!!!
When I read A.L. Jackson’s last book in my beloved Bleeding Stars series this past Summer, I didn’t think this wonderful writer would heal that hangover so quickly. I didn’t think I could sink myself into another story of this author’s when another series of hers still held my heart in its hands. I didn’t think I could love another series or story of A.L. Jackson’s so much. Show Me the Way this single dad romance, burrowed its way into my heart from the very start and never let go. I COULDN’T LET GO of this heart-hitting love story, especially when the heart hit the hardest was mine.
Two broken souls, one chasing light while one relishes the darkness, collide. This collision of past with present, dark with light, and a whole lot of fate was INEVITABLE.
A guy like that had heartache written all over him. And I’d had enough of that to last me a lifetime.
Oh Rex!!! Hard and soft. Dark and light. This sage-eyed single dad with the body of perfection and the damaged soul was a man I wanted to save. A man who has paid what he believes to be his penance for too long. A man who has never wanted to take a chance on love again...until her.
I stared at her standing in the moonlight. Like some sort of wicked enchantress with the face of an angel.
Rynna is beautiful inside and out. After a life of hell, this heroine is choosing happy. This angel is the light to a dark knight.
Broken sees broken.
Like sees like.
He needed someone to revive his faith just as desperately as I did. Because looking at him? I suddenly knew he had none of it.
A connection, so big as if it beckoned from above, blazes between Rex and Rynna. An aura of fire—fueled by fate—dances around them. Lighting them up. Lifting them out of the darkness.
I had her pinned. Just like me. I crushed my mouth to hers . . . I just needed to feel something different from the constant turmoil that raged inside . . . touch on something that felt like hope.
That kiss was so many things!!! One kiss with passion and power in spades. One kiss that penetrates straight to the heart. One kiss that meant so much more. Oh did I feel this hero and heroines’ passion too!
Pretty soon, this man was going to drown me. Take me all the way under.
I DROWNED in A.L. Jackson’s poetic words—so passionate and poignant—where I didn’t want to surface for air. Show Me the Way sucked me in, pulling me under. I could do nothing but FEEL EVERYTHING.
”When I close my eyes, who I see is you. Show me the way, Rynna. Show me the way out of it.”
GAH!!!! These words were SOOO MESMERIZING and MOVING!!! These words shot sparks to my soul. These words made my heart beat out of its chest. These words WERE EVERYTHING!!! Show Me the Way is EVERYTHING!!!
Show Me the Way showed itself—baring its soulful story to my soul and piercing my heart with each PASSIONATE and POETIC word. I FELL HARD for the broken hero and heroine—hearts torn apart but whose shattered pieces flawlessly fit together. My heart bled for these broken characters who became a part of me. I expected this story centered around a single dad to steal my heart; I didn’t expect it to steal so many tears. I could feel Show Me the Way so hard that tears remained etched in my eyes!!! I was RENDERED BARE and BROKEN in the most beautiful way!!!
This HEARTBREAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL BOOK hits the heart like a hurricane—as Show Me the Way slams into the soul—where every word penetrates with a force felt everywhere!!! A.L. Jackson’s words relentlessly tear and tug at the heart every time. With each beautifully broken book that this incredibly talented author writes, my heart leaves a piece behind in each soul-slaying story. Show Me the Way SLAYS all the way!!! As heartwarming as it is heart-wrenching, Show Me the Way is a romance felt long after the last page.

Rynna is a very sweet girl, that was badly bullied a lot growing up. Her own mother left her when she was just five, and her very sweet and loving grandmother raised her. It broke my heart, I had so many tears for her. I don’t know what I would of done if it were me, and if it wasn’t for her grandma, I don’t know how she would of survived. I love grandmas like hers. I think I would of been just as a mess like her or worse.
“Did you know I lost my mommy, too?” She whispered it like a secret. Like trust. I guessed that was what I’d come seeking, but I was wholly unprepared for this kind of offering. My hand was trembling when I reached out and lovingly ran my knuckles down the side of her face. “I’m so sorry, Frankie. I lost my mommy when I was little, too.” Her eyes went wide. “You did?” “Yeah.” Her voice dipped even lower. “Did you finds her?” “No. I tried to, but I don’t think she wanted to be found. But guess what? My grandma loved me so, so much, and she took such good care of me so I didn’t have to be sad.” She smiled the sweetest smile, and that fist on my heart squeezed. Squeezed and squeezed so hard it made it difficult to breathe. “My daddy takes good care of me and loves me so, so much.” “He seems like a good daddy.”
Rex is a really good guy who has also been through a lot of stuff and is a single dad to Frankie, the silliest and most sweetest girl ever. Some of the things Frankie says or does really makes you laugh so much. I just love little ones their just the best.
kay, Daddy. I knows all the rules. You don’t have to keep tellin’ me. Sheesh.”
Bliss. It was the first time he’d pulled me into a full embrace out in the open. Where Frankie could see. Frankie blushed through a giggle. “You two a huggin’? Grammy said Daddy gots it bad. You gots it bad, Daddy?” He told his mom about me? “Guess I do, Frankie Leigh.” His voice was gruff when he inclined his mouth to my ear. “Daddy gots it so bad.”
Well Rynna had left home eleven years ago after one really bad night and has now returned home, but not exactly because of circumstances that she would like. Her grandmother has passed away and left her small restaurant Peppers Pies to her. Of course while trying to figure out her life she’s got the hottest neighbor, Rex Gunner right across the street. The only thing is Rex, isn’t very welcoming and inviting or exactly friendly. After his wife left him three years ago, he feels like the only girl that’s important enough to be in his life is his daughter and that’s it. Only Frankie, and of course his own mother but that’s it. There’s just one thing, what Rex, doesn’t know is that Rynna is truly a good person and that their both perfect and just right for each other. Rex and Rynna are both what each other just needs. She’s not going to hurt him like he’s been before, and he’s not going to treat her like she’s been in the past.
“Someday you’ll understand what I’m talkin’ about. Someday you’ll know what it’s like to be in love . . . You know you’re in love when their happiness counts more than yours. The key is your happiness meaning most to them, too. Put those two together? That’s magic, Rynna. That’s what real love is. It’s two people giving all they have.”
This book was sweet emotional and really funny at times. I loved it and thought all the characters went really good together. This book definitely showed me the way to five stars and I can’t wait to see where it turns to next. So if you haven’t read this one, what are you waiting for? Also for any book hangover I had the next day I blame that on Mrs, Jackson lol.
Frankie started skipping around the small examination room. “Rynna makes the bestest cherry pies ever, ever. Daddy even said they mights be better than her grammy’s.” Kale looked down at her before looking at me with something gleaming in his eye. “Rynna, huh?” “Yep,” Frankie answered, not having a clue that Kale’s question was actually directed at me. “She bringed me one when I had the sicks and her pots pie made me all better. Oh, Uncle Kale, it was soes good!” “This Rynna sounds really nice,” Kale said. Again, eyeing me like the bastard he was.
