So this book confused me a little. I had to go back a couple times because I kept asking myself well what just happened. But I want to know what is going to happen next to the point that I started stalking. You know looking to see when this one was published and if something was said about the next book. I didn’t unearth anything, but I will keep my ear to the ground.
I liked Hank and his “boyfriends”, because yeah there were eight of them and I think I was stalking Collins because I wanted the bump nasty scenes that this book eluded to with the other seven or I’ll take some 2-1, 3-1, or even 4-1, but I want the kinkiness of it.
Now to the review.
Henry O’Mallery is your average teenage boy. He doesn’t really want to fit in, but he doesn’t want to be bullied either. The bane of his exitients is the “Pack” as he calls them, but little does he know.
One day everything changes and Henry goes from being picked on to being the most cherished between his ex-bullies. Now he has to wrap his head around the fact that he is well and truly gay and that he has eight boyfriends. Now what is a person to do.
And let’s not forget that his mom and friend are witches and there is another evil werewolf that wants him for his own.
Now all I need is the next book in this series, lets say by this time next month and all the bump nasty my heart can take. (which is a lot, trust me.)
Nessa's Book Reviews
Although the werewolf lore is changed quite a bit to explain the gay relationships within the pack and how some wolves also had families, it all makes sense once the rules of how things work are explained. The pack mentality and behavior is also painted in clear details and the tension Hank feels at not understanding what is happening and what is coming for him is palpable.
The world as he knows it is completely changed in a heartbeat and despite the very clear signs of trouble, everyone insists to keep him in the dark, give him only the briefest of details about what he is, the role he plays, and what the true nature of those around them is.
Shrill of Sparrows is a story of revelations, of growing up, and dealing with a life that is nothing like what the main character has ever imagined. Definitely a gripping story! Can’t wait to see where Hank and the eight members of his pack go from here.
