There's a lot of romance in this last volume. People get married, some of the kids have certain realizations about their futures... Honestly, a lot of the romance seemed kind of forced. Surely I'm not the only one who thinks that 12 year-olds should be thinking about what kind of ice cream they want next, not dating. And Ikuto's relationship with Amu stays relatively the same. That bothers me, because he's kind of creepy.... but he's not TOO inappropriate in this last volume.
Utau's psyche is slightly explored, although not in depth. She doesn't want to be alone, what with Ikuto having left to seek their father. After several outings with Kukai, their friendship develops. (That was nice to see.) Amu's graduation was also a nice addition. Finishing off the series? This book is a quick read, and while it's a little lackluster, it gives some closure with the characters. And I repeat, the artwork is as awesome as always.
