I've been using them 4 hours a day for a few months now and they are still holding up well, sound is great and it does a fine job at cancelling noise, there has never been a situation where I couldn't hear these, but they did take a day to break in. Sound quality is good too.
Microphone is crisp and works, my only tiny little complaint is the buttons are so tiny, I thought I'd get used to it but I haven't. They're just weird. Other than that I can't recommend these enough.
Update May 2019: Less than a year old and one of tougher metal bands that wraps over the ear so it fits nicely on the ear broke so my right headphone has no sound, I have been trying to get in contact with Shure to see if they can do anything about it but I have not heard back from them. I think the cable actually snapped, which is weird as I never keep these headphones in my pocket (I carry the case they came with everywhere), but I am going to change my rating from 5 to 1 star as it doesnt seem like a $100 pair of earbuds should last less than a year with normal use.
Edit: I bought these July 2018. It is now early February 2019 and the left ear bud has been dying for months.. thought I was going deaf in that ear but it officially is dead. Ordered a new pair (because I loved them) and am going to see if I'm still under warrenty for these now dead ones (in hopes of a backup pair) since there is 0 cable damage.
Good headphones for the price! I was torn between these and the Shure 535 (wireless&wired option @ $499) as I needed a new IEM for traveling. I truly wanted the improved quality of the 535's, but couldn't justify the terrible wireless connectivity/battery life and fear of leaving them somewhere when I travel for the price--so I opted for this entry-level version--and I don't regret it at all!
Sound quality is decent. I'd say they're about even with the Sennheiser Momentum/HD1 in-ears, with less bass and different mid/high-ends, but they're 100x more comfortable in terms of sitting in the ear (plus, the wrap-around style keeps them from falling out of the ear when getting caught or yanked by things). I am a Sennheiser fanboy but they simply don't have a competitive option in this space anymore. These 215's aren't nearly as tedious to sit in the ear as I had thought they would be. Sound isolation is unreal for a IEM out-of-the-box that doesn't have any type of noise cancelling and I find myself having to slide one ear out when roaming around towns or crossing streets.
I've traveled with them twice now (1 week trips using them daily) and use them at the gym 3-4 times a week. They're worth the money.
I'm definitely glad I picked these up instead of investing in a higher-priced alternative.. now I can wait for the wireless game to catch up a bit in the next year or two.
I'll try to remember to update this post in time to confirm whether or not they've held up.
Luckily, I have the old set of foam and silicone triple-flange eartips from Etymotic, which work with Shure.
Those eartips improve the sound isolation, but the sound is still worse than my $17 ClarityOne headset?!
The provided cable is thick and pretty hard with unnecessary bulky control. Yes, I realize I can get a replacement cable but I have already paid $99 and the real cost of a cable must be less than one dollar...
In addition, putting them on with running the wire around the ear is more laborious and annoying than just sticking them in like with Etys... Shall I send them back and give try to AudioTechnica ATH-E40?
Seeing musicians writing good review about them is surprising - they should have even better musical ears than mine...

Fits under a full-face motorcycle helmet beautifully without pulling out while taking on and off.
The negative reviews seem to be from anal-retentive audiophiles. Ignore them. They are $100 buds guys, you aren't going to use these to listen to the Clapton on vinyl though a dedicated gold plated DAC powered by unicorn farts in a tuned concrete bunker. Give it a rest.
I was looking for noise cancelling and durable earphones, and I got what I wanted. Both earbuds are working just as fine as the day I received them and even the wire is well made.
I'm no audiophile so I can't really talk in depth about the sound quality, but I can definitely tell the difference between this and a pair of ~20 dollar earphone. The noise cancelling is top notch as well.
If you haven't ever tried foam ear tips before, these headphones take great advantage of the seal they make. When music is playing at a reasonable volume the outside world vanishes almost completely.
For the money, the sound quality doesn't get better than these. The highs stand out as clear and bright, the bass is satisfactory as well as accurate and the mids are spot on and well promounced. I've heard elements in certain songs that I couldn't hear on cheaper earphones due to the fidelity of the SE215's.
The removable cable is an excellent feature that not enough companies implement into a product that truly benefits from it. You can replace it if it ever breaks which is the key point of a removable cable but you can also turn these into Bluetooth headphones as well as get cables in different styles and even change the cable to a lightning or USB type C connector in case your device doesn't have a headphone jack.
Overall, I would recommend these to anyone looking for a pair of quality earbuds in the $90-$150 price range, and especially to someone who has never bought quality earphones before. The money is worth it if you want comfort, quality, and isolation all in one package: as advertised. They are better than any free included earbuds you get with your phone, and they truly provide tangible value and improvement to the average listener over average earphones and are impressive even to an audiophile for the price.
My only caution is to properly size your foam ear tips by wearing whichever you believe will fit for about 5 minutes. This will give them time to fully expand into your ear and for you to see if they are uncomfortable due to their size at all. Essentially, make sure you set them up as well as possible for your individual needs.
TL;DR: Great audio quality, comfort, well isolating earphones that give some of the best per dollar value out of any earphone in this price range.
I could only wear them for short periods of time before pain set in.
The wire around the ear was a problem since I wear glasses, and the ear plug tips just wouldn't stay in.
Any jaw movement would cause the bass to drop in and out.
unfortunately, I had to return them.
I ended up getting a set of Apple ear pods which are very easy to wear and sound great!
I am super-happy with my older SE215's which have lasted a few years of hard (iPhone) use - but this set I bought for my wife (with the extra i-A button) failed in the first 9 months of gentle use (also just used on iPhone). Please help
