Best Sounding Microphone For Studio Recording
I've been looking to get this mic for months, seeing it on every podcast & YouTube video and how crisp it sound made me chose it over the MV7 USB microphone.Right out of the box it will sound dull, you'll need a few adjustments to bring the full our of it.I turned off the low cut filter and kept the presence boost on, the low cut filter cuts frequencies below 300Hz from what I've been told, which is a lot of information being cut out, it shouldn't be more than 80-100 HzIf your interface can give 60 dBs of gain, you won't need a cloudlifter or a fethead. I have the Shure SM7B plugged into my Scarlet 2i2 4th gen interface and it sounds perfect, the Scarlet gives up to 70 dBs of gain, which is more than what this mic needs.This is the first professional microphone I've bought, I've only used earbuds in the past, and I'm not looking to switch anytime soon.
