My review is going to mirror many others on here:
Pros: Great Overall Sound Quality
Cons: Plasticy, Creaky, Uncomfortable, Ugly
Honestly don't think Shure tested these headphones on a human. I think they tested the fit on a cardboard box. That is the only explication I can think of, or they though DJs all have flat heads. I am going to have to get some padding, because it feels like the headband is digging into my skull.
I am also not a huge fan of round pleather earpads (warm and uncomfortable). I prefer oval velour pads. Now you might ask, then why did I buy these? Lets just say I was SUPER lucky and bought these for a huge discount on Amazon due pricing mistake. Thankfully, the seller stood by their mistake and still sent it out at the CRAZY price I got them for brand new.
As my title would suggest, these are one of the best sounding headphones you can get in the $150-$200 price range. WELL worth that asking price. Too bad they are only worth about $20 in comfort and design. Really don't know how Shure messed up the build so badly.
These are very hard headphones to recommend. Personally, if I would say spend just a little more and get the Shure SRH840 http://www.amazon.com/Shure-SRH840-Professional-Monitoring-Earphones/dp/B002DP8IEK. Then get the Shure HPAEC940 Replacement Velour Ear Pads (That work with the SRH840 as well) http://www.amazon.com/Shure-HPAEC940-Replacement-Velour-Headphones/dp/B005OM06RG
