Editorial Reviews

Cas Haley returns with his first full-length studio release since 2010's celebration 'Connection'! Texas-based singer/songwriter Cas Haley, known for his powerful vocals and seamless mixing of raggae, pop, and southern soul, has crafted another diverse and supremely catchy batch of songs. Mixed by Grammy-winner Rob Fraboni (Bob Dylan, Keither Richards, etc), 'La Si Dah' was recorded in mostly singles takes with intimate mic set-ups to capture the organic warmth and energy that used to be in music before the ascendancy of Protools, Autotune and other technological 'advancements.'

Cas may have been a runner-up on "America's Got Talent", but what gave him cred for me was that he was picked up by the Easy Star label. I've sampled and been tempted by Cas' previous albums but this one pushed me over the edge. Cas is in command of a funky, soulful, joyous and irie ride. The door is open - climb in!

I must admit that Cas Haley's reggae vibe is what brought me to his music (and that he is local--from Texas). Having said that, I first heard this album live in concert and it really rocks live. This album is a nice surprise as it provides not only reggae, but some blues and a motown feel. While I still love the reggae songs, the other songs really jam on this album especially the instrumentals. Ryan Eldgridge, who plays keyboards, really puts some emotion into his keyboard playing--his live playing is outta control...really entertaining and great to listen to. Cas' voice and guitar play is solid and joyful--fun to listen to.

If you are a fan of Cas Haley, this is a great album as it offers a diverse group of songs and gives you a glimpse of what he is capable of doing in song writing. Even the Smiths cover is great.
If you are new to Cas Haley-Check out "Connection" also. When you compare the 2 albums, Cas has evolved.

Highly recommended.."Slow down" and Listen....

I stumbled across this by chance on Amazon. I never heard of the artist before (found out he was competing on one of those T.V. shows after the fact). Good music to listen to while waking along the beach.

Anything by Cas Haley is incredible. Definitely one of those CDs you want to keep in your car to listen with the windows rolled down or on the outdoor stereo while you're grilling and entertaining. Many of my friends got into Cas just from listening to this album and his older one. Definitely check him out live if you ever get the chance!

Cas Haley's third album is another 5 star effort. Haley's multi-functional vocals cover the likes of soul, blues,
reggae and pop, and he does so on this album to his full potential. The musicianship is upbeat, tight and very
polished without being over-produced. Combining soulful blues and funky reggae with elements of pop, rock and
calypso, every track is a winner. Blues influenced tracks are "Let Her Go", "Mojo", "wait For Me" and "Trash Day"
whilst the other tracks have a reggae beat that is infectous and in keeping with the true reggae sound. 3 of the
tracks are instrumental("Trash Day", "Jackson" and "Capricorn") and there is one beautiful ballad, "Wait For Me".
If you are looking for comparisons or influences, I would say Bob Marley, Grayson Hughes and Booker T & the MG's.
The album, however, stands out on its own regardless of any comparisons, and Cas has done a fine job again. A
talent that does not disappoint who deserves a place in your music collection.

I started listening to Cas Haley after America's Got Talent a few years ago and I purchased all his albums. This album is a little different than the others because I couldn't put it into one genre of music. The album is very good, but it just took me a moment to stop trying to label it and just enjoy it for what it is... good music. I especially like "Let her go." That song is hot and I can imagine myself listening to it in a hammock under a tree with a cold beverage in hand. Great job, Cas!
