Paramedic Levi Prescott got a new partner a year ago and his instant attraction to the stunning woman was intensely    visceral. But once he learned she was engaged, he buried those feelings. Then six months ago Madison and her fiance broke up, but with a strict no fraternization policy at work the two have remained just good friends and work partners, which worked since Levi knew the emotional scars her ex left were still healing.

It hasn't gone unnoticed that Madison's partner is extremely hot but after a disastrous breakup she's still picking up the pieces of her shattered confidence. When the mutual sparks would no longer be denied the two agree to a secret friends with benefits relationship.

It was immediately obvious that their perfect working relationship had quickly developed into a perfect physical relationship. But with their work rules firmly in place could they ever hope for more without risking the jobs they both loved so much? And will Madison's past stay buried where it belongs?

A little over the top with the steamy scenes that got more graphic with each one.

A+ for the story, character development and execution. I loved both main characters and enjoyed watching their relationship unfold. There was a ton of mutual respect that made a great foundation for their professional and personal relationships. They were intelligent, skilled, vulnerable and off the charts hot.

The loss of a star is because there was almost too much sex for me…and that’s not something I recall saying more than a few times in decades of reading steamy romances. These characters are so much more than what happens between the sheets and that almost got lost here imho.

Do I recommend this book? Absolutely!!

I loved this book! Usually in romance novels the couple have some stupid misunderstanding and end up in a fight so they can make-up later but this book doesn't do that and it's so refreshing! There's conflict but it's not between the two main characters. It's about two independent people who learn to trust each other, become a united front against their adversaries, and fall in love.

Good read but I personally feel that it could have been so much better if the author would have added as much commeradiity between the two main characters at work and outside the bedroom as she did sexual encounters in the bed.

Side Effects is a sweet and steamy friends to lovers romance between two EMTs who are partners in NYC. This is the fifth book in The Prescotts series. Past and future Prescotts are in the book. It is nice to have the family connections continue with the cousins of the original four brothers.

I liked both Levi and Maddie. Maddie is building a new life for herself after a bad breakup, and is learning to navigate life while moving away from a toxic engagement and toxic parents. Levi has had feelings for her since they first met, but respects where she is in her life and meets her there. There are quite a few steamy scenes and they are well done. I enjoyed this addition to the series, and am looking forward to the next. 4.5 stars rounded to 5.

Several times this has many many pages of descriptive rough sex including some bondage and biting. Other than that, it is an interesting trope with 2 paramedics falling in love. She comes from self-made wealthy Russian immigrant parents whose mother wants her to be a doctor and marry a rich rat. He comes from Firefighter family wonderfully bonded whose firefighter dad died in 9/11. Story sometimes got buried in the sex.

3.0 out of 5 stars We love low-angst friends-to-lovers romance!

This was my first Tara Wyatt book and I enjoyed it enough to want to check out the others in this series. This was a low-angst friends-to-lovers romance between two characters who were surprisingly mature and drama-free and I really liked their friendship plus their sexual chemistry was incendiary!

I love romances where the hero is totally gone for the heroine first and so I was pretty delighted with how Levi basically worshipped Madi and treated her like a queen. They're both paramedics and first meet when Madi is introduced as Levi's new partner, and through their shifts, they develop a strong work rapport and friendship. It's clear from the beginning that they have a great connection as they effortlessly work together as a team, so it felt natural when they tentatively work their way into the friends-with-benefits territory to the potential of something even greater.

Even though there was 'angst' in knowing that their relationship was forbidden because they work together, it was pretty low as Levi was pretty much all-in from the moment they start their friend with bennies situation, and while Madi was wrestling with trust issues from her ex-fiancé's betrayal, it was clear she had strong feelings for him too. I'm glad that there was little drama and that their 'denial of feelings' didn't go on for long—it helped that Levi was so upfront with what he wanted but I'm sure their intense sexual chemistry, that basically set my Kindle on fire, also helped! 😂 Phew, these two with their dirty talk and slightly kinky play! 🥵

There was silly OM drama at the end, thanks to Madi's mother being a total boundary-crossing toxic hag and Madi's ex-fiancé being a right nob, but thankfully, our H/h were secure enough with each other that they didn't let it tear them apart. I do wish that we got to see them spending more time together outside of the bedroom though, especially at the start when their friendship developed as it would've made it easier to connect with them. Overall though, this was a fun, sexy and low-angst romance that I easily read in one sitting and I'm looking forward to reading more by this author in the future!
