Introducing the ultimate 135mm telephoto featuring top-level performance

Delivering the ultra-high resolution that brings the best out of 50MP+ ultra-high-megapixel DSLRs

135mm telephoto lenses are often categorized as the foundational telephoto, the first one to add to a lens collection. This focal length delivers a strong perspective compression effect, while the large diameter with F1.8 brightness provides a dramatic bokeh effect. By minimizing axial chromatic aberration, the SIGMA 135mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art makes this bokeh effect not only impressive but also beautiful while delivering superb contrast and sharp image quality in every shot. It offers the outstanding resolution required for 50MP or higher ultra-high-megapixel DSLRs. By incorporating its latest innovations in design and optical glass and rethinking every aspect of the lens, SIGMA has ensured outstanding image quality all the way to the edges, establishing the new standard in 135mm telephoto lenses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning image quality, second best portrait lens ever.
By Photographer on September 21, 2019
I'd call it about a dead tie between this and the Sony 135GM for the second best portrait lens ever, behind only the magic of the original Carl Zeiss 135f1.8

This lens is sharp, the colors are excellent, the aberrations are all but non-existent.....it focuses faster than expected and the bokeh is exceptional.

I've used it for portraits, weddings, wildlife and even sports. I shoot with several other fast primes, but this is always the most used.

Highly, highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Sharp, Extreme IQ
By BETODETH on March 10, 2020
Night and day compared to the 35mm f1.4Art from the same brand. It is the sharpest lens I have. I was afraid that the lense dont delivers on autofocus, but when I put it in 1.5-infinite auto focus mode I have no problems to be able to follow birds, and that I am not so professional with telephoto lenses! A good purchase without a doubt, thanks sigma for this piece of art. Not to mention that I chose the lens for its price and because its almost on par with the sony, half the price of Sony GM option, near similar quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tracks focus in continuous & burst shooting nearly as well as native
Reviewed in Canada on February 29, 2020
I have been trying the GM and the Canon version of this lens using the MC-11 adapter on my A7III and a6500 since last year. I found the Canon version on the adapter to transmit the torque of focusing into my hands, but it worked accurately enough for my event photography business. After using it at a three day event in February 2020 I decided to order the lens as I just cannot justify the cost of the GM.

Turns out the E mount version does not transmit the torque of focusing into my hands (I cannot feel it start and finish focusing) and it is quiet and accurate.

The images above are my day one tests of this lens from my front steps. I was tracking vehicles as they drove by in burst shooting. At one point a flock of birds flew over. The image above is mid burst using the a6500 in continuous focus and using the zone focusing mode.

The downside of the lens is it is much more heavy than than the GM. However, it feels less heavy than the 70-200 GM.

I'm enjoying the lens and it is going to generate a profit for my business.
