This is a welcome accessory for most photographers. It eliminates using the LCD screen, saves battery life, and in general makes things much faster. Just point and shoot. If I ever get the close up lens attachment I will need to use the screen, but not until.

I really like this finder, it is nice and bright. I do wish it would fit tighter in the hot shoe. Its a little expensive to have a plastic body, but the glass is of a high quality and that is more important than the body material. It is a permanent fixture on my camera.

I paid $115 used for this on Amazon - hard to find used, and new they're about $150. I got as an aide to framing shots in low-level light. It works, but knowing now how large it is, I wouldn't purchase it again. I think it's too small - I'd look for other 28mm external viewfinders that would fit the camera hot-shoe (probably just about any would do). I would prefer it to be at least twice as big as it is, and would even consider the very popular standard Voightlander 28mm finders with high-quality glass at $200-$250.

What good is an external viewfinder if you cannot focus with it? Piece of junk. I am sending it back. What a joke

Forget about the review that thinks this is overpriced, I think it is a valuable addition to the DP-1 and if you've ever bought pro quality accessories for a Nikon, Leica, etc., this is a bargain.

The quality is very good, it is compact, fits perfectly on the camera -- in short it looks like it belongs there. If you are serious about street or action shooting, you need this accessory.

Too often I find viewfinders that are unsympathetic to spectacle wearers, not being able to see the full view/field. Having bought without trying it was a relief to find that yes it is useable with specs, and the whole frame is visible. It would be a little easier to use if it wasn't so tiny though, and the topof the optional; lens hood intrudes into the bottom of the frame/view. 4 stars from me, as I feel if it was larger, and higher off the top plate it would be even better. Still essntial, though the voightlander 28mm viewfinder may just be that extra star better.

Some people don't understand the purpose of an external OVF. Once you use one, you'll know why you want one.

5.0 out of 5 stars 理由はただ一つ
Reviewed in Japan on August 1, 2017
