Any and Every available source on google describes a combination of a man that Is neither Alpha male, nor beta male, and theoretically has both of the best traits.
However, the author has written about something else entirely, and merely titled the book "The Sigma Male."
The author ignores all Google search confirmed traits about sigma males, listed over several sites, and then proceeds to write a book that defines a "sigma male" as someone who exists solely to solve each and every one of their significant others problems, and then talks about problem solving in great detail. During the entirety of the book, the author makes zero reference whatsoever to the traits of the sigma as outlined and defined by Google.
I think the term for this is bait and switch.
If you google "Sigma Male" , you can get a quick idea of what a Sigma Male is, and you can read some blogs and find what I say to be true.

This is a relationship book for men that priorities their mates wants and desires, and looks for ways to prevent and protect their mates from problems before they even happen, And champions the cause the man following this advice look to require zero reward, recognition or compensation. To be a male that does all of this out of pure sense of duty.
This book has nothing to do with the Sigma Male as define by any available google search.
It seems wholly like a reskinned relationship book on a severely different topic.
I am extremely disappointed, because the subject matter of the book does not match the title at all.
This is extreme miscommunication at best, Bait and switch at worst. Buyer beware!
The author does a good job of balancing two seemingly incompatible worlds: one where a man dominates and one where he is kind and understanding. Along those lines, this is the first "relationship" book I've read that actually feels like it was written for men. It uses common sense logic, although I can tell the author has done his homework. There are footnotes and references in the back (if you care about that sort of thing). The book has a first-person voice and has a very informal man-to-man feel to it.
At first glance the book seems to be very politically incorrect. It makes references to dominant male behavior and is in support of traditional roles. Note: AT FIRST GLANCE. In reality, it is very pro-women but it makes it clear that there are still things in relationships that should be treated as masculine and feminine. There's a lot to like and respect in that.
I highly recommend this book. My relationship was never bad but after reading this book I've noticed some things I can definitely improve on. It's not a silver bullet quick-fix solution, but has ideas that are immediately applicable.
Note: The book makes reference to a free online assessment, but when I went to the website I couldn't find it. They responded to my email and let me know that they're still de-bugging it. They took my email and told me they would send me the link as soon as it's ready.
