This transmitter works works great. Get a real power supply and antenna

This transmitter works works great. I get 7.2 watts out on a Bird 43 watt meter. I have read some comments about a hum with this and other FM transmitters. The problem is the power supply, I use a quality regulated supply set at 12.7VDC feeding into a 10 ahr battery. The transmitter is then hard wired to the battery. The signal is 100% clean (no hum). If your going to have others listening to your transmitter, spend the time and money to make it right. The same goes for the antenna, I recommend getting a SWR meter, making or buy a good antenna and keep the SWR at 1.5:1 or lower. If you use the supplied antenna your range will be limited and the SWR maybe very high depending on other metal objects in the room, wires in the wall. Having clean DC voltage and low SWR will insure a long life for your transmitter. The price for this and most of the other FM transmitters from Amazon is a good deal even after trashing the power supply and telescopic antenna. The transmitter itself will match the sound quality of any other FM stereo radio station. All radio stations use whats called compression, this limits the audio to a fixed setting so the DJ does not have to control the level. Compression also reduces the quality of sound. So by adjusting your own audio level and not using a limiter, you can outperform other radio station's sound quality. I have tested this by feeding audio from a CD player to a mixer then to this transmitter then switching the presets on my receiver from my signal to the 50,000 watt station in town. Sorry about getting long winded but this should help.

A Terrific bit of engineering. As a retired broadcast engineer I can say this product just blew me away. Its so tiny yet powerful 7 watts, that's enough to do your neighborhood. And be careful of idiotic FCC. But they work only on complaints. Use it well and I suggest a dipole rather than the little whip. I assume the whip quarter wave isn't that great for the final RF stages.
Must admit I do both audio and RF and this stereo BOX is just unbelievable especially at the crazy low price. It should last you the trip bro!
Fleetwood Mac never sounded better in stereo! Tests show about one mile with the included antenna if you do not elevate the antenna. The unit comes with a whip (vertical designed for reception). To give stability and keep RF from causing hum and noise, you should at very least but a quarter wave wire as a ground radial. Several will make it a "ground plane". Mine works great, but frustrating in setting tuning ranges.

I will say, as an amateur radio fan, I was terribly impressed in the solid feeling product this is.

When turning it on, I went meticulously through the setup (setting the lower and upper limits), then put it to use.

I tested it for a solid hour of broadcasting low power, perfectly clear and crisp, no issues!!!

Then I put it to it's real use: 4 hour blocks of broadcasting audio from a race track so others may hear, it worked perfectly, every hair splitting turn in crystal clear stereo FM.

Did this again the next week without issue!

I kept it powered off when not in use (It sits on top of a 16u rack with quite a few professional audio must-have's for one of the best race tracks in the U.S.).

The third weekend I powered it on and nothing is broadcasting at all. It's on, I even swapped out the audio cables, tried different audio sources, tried re-setting it up, both high and low power, nothing.

I've tried contacting the seller and they are absolutely radio silent, no reply whatsoever.

To say this is a disappointment is unbelievably accurate.

The thing has 9 hours and 7 minutes of use, and it's dead.

I use the lowest power for indoor use at a church to get sound 2 floors down to the day care and it works great. It does transmits outside about 1/2 mile radius very clearly so one needs to find an empty frequency and be aware of the content transmitted to the public. Look up FCC regulations in the states. Choosing anything over 95 MHz is awkward as the directions are vague, but you'd want to stick to the lower freq with the antenna supplied (better SWR match).
I wouldn't recommend using high power ("advertised" 7 watts) because the power supply is too weak. The audio going into the unit should have a bass cut and/or compressor (overloads easy). If it distorts, turn the input down.
Yes the fan is noisy but the unit is compact and the fan must keep the output transistors cool.

SO EASY ... Church drive in

I purchased this for long term use at our church. I have zero technical training. Our church is offering drive in services for those not comfortable being in group settings. I was using a pocket transmitter, and wanted something that could remain plugged in.

I plugged it in.
I turned it on.
I plugged in the mike (separate purchase), and ensured volume was up.
I set the station to the one we had been using.
I use a small transistor radio to monitor it, and it was perfect.

It has an FCC Part 15 Compliance Sticker with the license number on it. “FCC certified. FCC ID: 2ASVO05B7CT200“
I went to the FCC site and confirmed that the code was valid for this equipment.

While most of our members are using car radios, a transistor radio is perfect, and can easily be used to transmit sound to rooms that have not been wired (nursery, overflow rooms, even the kitchen).

I am not currently using the plug in connection for external devices, so I can’t confirm how well those work.
