This is the first review I have written for anything, a book or otherwise. I enjoyed reading this book and found it to be fascinating, especially the historical background, most of which I am not overly familiar with, but am now motivated to read more about. The story is involved and intriguing and kept my interest. At times, I felt that the prose was likely more beautiful, and lyrical in its original Hebrew, than it was able to be translated into the English, but understanding that, it did not take away from the rich historical backdrop, the events that occurred, and the characters themselves. It does flip back and forth from the present time of the book to historical periods from times past, which can be confusing if you are not focusing and paying attention, but I found the stories from the past to be fascinating and was glad that they were included. The book will not answer all your questions by the end, and you will be left waiting for the sequel to find out what happens to everyone. But that is okay, I can wait.

An Excellant Book!!! The writing is often understated. This works well to de-sensationalize some of the events. I did want some of the events in the book to be slightly expanded, but, all told, it worked very well. The descriptions of the battles and war events were accurate enough and vivid enough to make me think the author may have had some battle experience. The end of the story was left hanging a bit, but, then, I do see why it was. Again, an excellant read. A sort of cross between Star Wars Jedi training and Indiana Jones.

The Silence of the Chariot Descenders is one of a few books that I can relate to. It is evident that Nissim, the author, and I have much in common. Having been born and raised in Egypt and having known how Jews are looked upon in that part of the world, the story had a special effect on me. The author has succeeded in depicting somewhat realities of a life from a philosophical and a historical perspective while inserting personal history in it. Thank you Nissim for the intellectual opportunity.

It was amazing for me to read a story of adventures while discover the true facts of Jewish history and philosophy.
The book belong to the rare category of books which are interesting both for young people and for serious readers.
Book's language is short, concrete and attractive. A lot of actions. So it is for uninterrupted reading. Like good Hollywood film.

I am not big on writing reviews. This is probably my first & so I give credit where credit is due.
The Silence of the Chariot Descenders was not only an exciting read, but well thought out & easy to follow between timelines. I was hooked at page one. This is a must read!

The old sitcom "Laugh In" coined the phrase "Interesting....Very interesting but...." and this sums up this book. Loved the parallel of the main character's story with some of the Jewish history. However it at times we bit distracting. At first the ending was a bit disappointing leaving the reader to say "Is that it?" Yet it does make you ponder Moses' struggle with his free will to choose and to go further our own ability to exercise our individual free will to choose good or evil. What would you do? Interesting....verrrry interesting!!!
